NC State is on a dream run, where they just took down rival Duke in the Elite Eight. DJ Burns Jr. scored 29 points. Michael O’Connell grabbed 11 rebounds. And O’Connell dished out six assists while only turning the ball over once.
Purdue on the other hand has been dominant all season, and has backed it up here in March with four straight tournament wins. Edey scored 40 points against Tennessee. He grabbed 16 rebounds, 5 of which were on the offensive end. Finally, Braden Smith had seven assists.

Purdue Boilermakers
Purdue has finally gotten over the hump and is back in the final four for the first time since 1980. Purdue is led by the now back-to-back national player of the year Zach Edey (25 PPG, 12 RPG). Edey had a monster 40-point and 16 rebound performance in the Boilermakers win over Tennessee in the elite eight last weekend.
NC State Wolfpack
The NC State Cinderella run has made it all the way to the final four. The Wolfpack have won 9 games in a row and stolen the heart of the country. NC State is led by guard DJ Horne (16.8 PPG) and forward DJ Burns (13 PPG). Both of these guys have been incredible during this run and they look to continue it against Purdue on Saturday night.
Game Prediction
While Purdue has been the superior team all season long, I think 9 points is too much of a spread when you take into consideration how well NC State has been playing. The DJ Burns vs Zach Edey matchup down low is going to be fun to watch.
The biggest key for the Wolfpack is to keep Burns out of foul trouble. The ball will be in Edey’s hands all game so it’s important for Burns to not pick up any cheapies early. Give me NC State keeping this game close.
