Huge slate of games on this Tuesday with 26 teams in action in the NHL on this Tuesday, March 19th, 2024. Here are our favorite bets from the guys on “The Stew with JT Brew” podcast, which airs its “NHL Around the Ice” segment every Wednesday night on the Total Apex Sports YouTube channel.
NHL: Colorado Avalanche (-218) at St. Louis Blues (+180) – 8:00 PM EST
Over/Under 6.5 Goals (-110)
The Colorado Avalanche have been rolling lately. The Avs have won six straight games and have scored 27 goals during that span.
The St. Louis Blues defense and goaltending has been solid of late, but can they slow down Colorado? I’m not betting on it.
Nathan McKinnon is having an MVP-type season for Colorado. He is in the mix to win the Hart Memorial Trophy. They guy just scored points. McKinnon has gone an assist in six straight games and in 13 of his last 15 games.
Cale Makar has 191 shots on goal this season in 63 games. He gets the puck on the net when he faces the Blues this season with 12 shots in three games.

NHL: Montreal Canadians (+310) at Edmonton Oilers (-395) – 9:00 PM EST
Over/Under 6.5 Goals (-110)
Anytime the Edmonton Oilers play at home, gamblers should be either dipping into or reloading their accounts. The Oilers are 21-8-3 and carry a goal differential of +37 when on home ice this season.
Superstar Connor McDavid has tallied a league-high 81 assists this season and is seeking to become just the fourth player ever to tally 100 in a season. If not for missing a few games earlier in the season, this feat would be all but a lock.
Edmonton lost to both Columbus and Buffalo on the road back on March 7th and 9th, and then got back on track winning their next two before losing last time out 3-2 at home vs. Colorado in OT.
The matchup vs. the Avs had that playoff feel and Edmonton played a good game despite falling just short. Montreal has not been good over the last month, winning only four games since Feb 10th, and just really struggles to score goals.

Buffalo Sabers (+165) at Vancouver Canucks (-200) – 10:00 PM EST
Over/Under 6 Goals (-110)
The Buffalo Sabers are playing back-to-back nights after winning at the Seattle Kraken 6-2 last night. The Sabers have been putting up points lately, scoring 33 goals in their last nine games. And now they are going against the Vancouver Canucks, who are one of the top three-scoring teams in the league.
The Canucks are looking to get back on track after dropping two straight games. This team has been shutting down teams on the defensive end of late, giving up nine goals in their last six games.
Casey DeSmith is in goal for the Canucks. He has struggled a bit since seeing increased playing time due to the injury to starting goalie Thatcher Demko.
This gives us a dilemma on goals scored. I’m leaning towards moving towards taking the over in this one.
J.T. Miller leads the Canucks in scoring (87 points) and is second in assists (54). I like him to get a helper tonight.
