We have a heavy slate of action this Thursday, March 14th, 2024, in the NHL, with 12 games. Here are our favorite bets from the guys on “The Stew with JT Brew” podcast, which airs its “NHL Around the Ice” segment every Wednesday night on the Total Apex Sports YouTube channel.
Arizona Coyotes (+136) at Detroit Red Wings (-162) – 7:00 PM EST
Over/Under 6.5 Goals (-110)
I can’t say that Detroit is the easy play here, because since Dylan Larkin went down with a short-term injury they have been in a tailspin. Videos have surfaced of fights among teammates in practice, and it appears they are feeling the pressure of performing well down the stretch to get into the playoffs and doing it without their captain. Regardless of this concern, they should be able to take care of an Arizona Coyotes team that has been just awful for a few months now.
After winning six straight games from February 17-27, the Wings have dropped their last six, giving up 7-5-4-7-4-5 goals in that span. But the Coyotes have won only three games since January 24th. It is embarrassing. Arizona got beat down by the Blackhawks 7-4 last Sunday, and I just don’t see them winning this game. Maybe Coyote is just what the Wings need on the menu to get back on track.

New Jersey Devils (+150) at Dallas Stars (-180) – 8:00 PM EST
Over/Under 6.5 Goals (-110)
The Devils can’t stop anyone from putting the puck in the back of the net. The Stars look to put a pitchfork in the Devils in what should be a lopsided game with plenty of scoring. New Jersey allowed less than two goals only twice in their last 12 games. Their goaltending has been atrocious this season, and there appears to be no end in sight. Dallas is on a nice roll, winning five of their last six games, and scoring 28 total goals in that span. Jason Robertson has scored two points or more in his last three games and has assists in his last four. He has 11 points in his last 10 games. I like that trend to continue tonight against a bad road team in New Jersey.

Anaheim Ducks (+225) at Minnesota Wild (-278) – 8:00 PM EST
Over/Under 6 Goals (-110)
More of the same with this matchup, as betters look to tail whichever team is hosting the Anaheim Ducks down the stretch. The Ducks have given up 7-6-6 goals in their past three games and got their doors blown off in Chicago on Tuesday night. Minnesota has won four of their last five matchups and is going to ride Marc-Andre Fleury for a third straight game. Flower has looked great of late, and I expect this to be another lopsided loss for Anaheim. Kirill Kaprizov has been otherworldly of late, scoring 14 points in his last 10 games, and having scored a point in five straight. He has three multi-point performances in his last five as well.
