The Yankees turn to Clarke Schmidt tonight in game three. Schmidt has two no-decisions in the postseason across 9.1 innings pitched. In those two starts, he has a 3.86 ERA, nine hits, and six strikeouts. Schmidt had a nice start to the 2024 season and had it somewhat derailed with arm trouble, but he is very capable.
Prediction
The Yankees must get some depth out of Schmidt tonight and will most likely need six out from Luke Weaver. Boone has to treat this like it is game seven because New York cannot go down 3-0 and realistically expect to win the series. We are going to follow the money here, the Yankees are seeing 75% off the tickets and 64% of the money. Yankees’ money line has risen from -148 to -155, so there is some respected money on New York for Vegas to move the line. We also do not see the Dodgers as an underdog very often.
