The Brooklyn Nets (26-41) are playing the San Antonio Spurs (14-53) in a Sunday evening game. Brooklyn is a team that could make something of themselves next year. However, they are losers in four of their last five games. Furthermore, their losses have often come by wide margins. However, the San Antonio side has also lost four of the last five games. Additionally, they too lose by wide margins. Therefore, this spread makes sense as it gives a slight edge to the home team.
But do you see the Nets picking up a win in Austin tonight?

Key Stats
Brooklyn Nets
Brooklyn is hoping to salvage whatever it can from this regular season. They are capable of beating the San Antonio Spurs, but it’s not likely. Mikal Bridges is their most consistent player. Bridges averages 20.7 points per game, along with a team-high of 3.7 assists per game. Additionally, Cam Thomas leads this team in scoring at 21.3 points per game. However, the Brooklyn Nets will rely on Nic Claxton to help limit the rebounding and overall offensive play of the Spurs. Claxton averages 9.8 rebounds per game.
San Antonio Spurs
San Antonio will be happy to have the services of their best player. Victor Wembanyama averages 20.6 points per game as well as 10.3 rebounds per game. Moreover, Tre Jones averages 6.1 assists per game. However, the player to watch for is Keldon Johnson. Johnson averages 15.9 points per game but he is reserved to the bench for now. Look to see if Johnson can get himself going against the Washington Wizards tonight.

Game Prediction
San Antonio is favored to win for a reason. The Brooklyn Nets aren’t consistent enough to be favored on the road. Moreover, the San Antonio Spurs have the best player on the court tonight. Although this team can struggle when he goes to the bench, even outside of him, this team will likely put up a fight against what is also not a good overall team. Therefore, I like the Spurs to cover the spread and get a decently comfortable win tonight. However, due to the lack of consistent defense from both sides, I am also picking the point total to go over. While the Nets will have a hard time stopping the Spurs throughout the game, I see the San Antonio Spurs giving up too many easy baskets to this Brooklyn Nets team tonight.
Final Pick
San Antonio Spurs – 1.5 and Over 217.5
