The Toronto Raptors (20-36) travel to the Atlanta Hawks (24-31) in a Friday night game. Although the visitors hosted the Brooklyn Nets last night, tonight’s home team hasn’t played in ten days. But that’s about to change as these sides face off for the fourth time this season.
The hosts have a commanding 2-1 series lead this regular season. Additionally, they took a game in Canada. However, their last home encounter saw them squeak by a narrow 126-125 win over tonight’s opponent. As the records indicate, this should be a close one.
But do you see the favorites controlling the matchup after nearly two weeks off?

Toronto comes off a good performance against the Brooklyn Nets. However, they need to turn it around quickly, They face the Atlanta Hawks in a back-to-back in a road game. Although the team record is not good, hope remains that this team can get things back on track. However, Scottie Barnes remains one of the better players in the East. He averages 20.0 points per game, as well as 8.2 rebounds. Additionally, Jakob Poeltl helps him on the boards. The big man chips in 8.5 rebounds a game. Therefore, if the Toronto Raptors keep a steady defense, they can keep things interesting tonight.

Atlanta is all gas a zero brakes. Despite having one of the better perimeter defenders in Dejounte Murray, they give up too many points. Also, there are rumors surrounding the franchise. Hence many believe they will choose to move forward with Murray over Trae Young. While surprising, it really shouldn’t be. It’s hard to win consistently with an undersized guard while giving up easy baskets on the other end. However, nothing is set in stone at this moment. Additionally, Bogdan Bogdanovic is someone to look for to get hot tonight against the Toronto Raptors.

Game Prediction
Expect the Toronto Raptors to look much the same as they did last night. Despite being on a quick turnaround day, I like them to continue how they looked against the Brooklyn Nets. Even if they don’t win, the oddsmakers have them listed as underdogs by too high a margin. Therefore, I am going with the visitors to cover the spread. Additionally, I see the renewed defensive effort giving the Atlanta Hawks a little more trouble than the last time. The point total is too high this time around. Despite what the books say, the Toronto Raptors may even up the regular season series tonight!
Final Pick
Toronto Raptors +7 and Under 246
