Key Stats
Toronto Blue Jays
The Blue Jays are currently a bottom 10 offense in the MLB in all major categories. Yusei Kikuchi is sitting on a 4-9 Record. However, he has held Rangers batters to a .211 Batting Average. Right now, the Jays have a losing record of 4-6 in their last 10 games. Star hitter Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is 3/4 against the Rangers’ starting pitcher, Andrew Heaney. Toronto is coming off of a 13-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays.
Texas Rangers
Unlike the Blue Jays, the Rangers have a winning record of 7-3 in their last 10 games. However, starting pitcher Heaney has struggled against Toronto’s batters. He’s allowing a .300 Batting Average with an overall of 27/90. Their record on the road is 22-29, but they have won their last five games giving them the momentum coming into this contest. Also, Corey Seager has been hot at the plate five hits in hs last eight at bats.
Prediction
I am predicting that the Texas Rangers will stay hot and beat the Toronto Blue Jays. Although the numbers are showing that Andrew Heaney has struggled against the Blue Jays’ batters, I believe that he will be on a short leash if it starts to get out of hand. This is the Ranger’s chance to get back to a .500 record, and a team with a championship pedigree will take advantage of this opportunity. Corey Seager has been hot the past two games and I expect him to keep it up against Yusei Kikuchi who has been an un and down pitcher all season.
On the flipside, the Toronto Blue Jays need to return to from. They lost last game 13-0 and that is embarrassing. Do I expect them to get blasted No I don’t. However, I think that the better offense in the Rangers will beat up on a pitcher that has been up and down all season will continue to be up and down. Kikuchi has only had 3 quality starts in his last 12 games. Which is why I am picking the Rangers to pull off the “upset” against the Blue Jays.
Final Pick
Texas Rangers ML (+100)
