The Oklahoma City Thunder(1-0) host the New Orleans Pelicans(0-1) for game 2 tonight.
This is one of the better series we have in round 1. Game 1 came down to the final shot, and the Thunder barely came out on top. Even though the Thunder are a 1 seed and the Pelicans are an 8 seed, all of these games will still be very close. There is so much star power on the court in this series, and there are plenty of players to bet on.
Which players should we bet on in tonight’s Western Conference showdown?
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 28.5 Points (-120)
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is an MVP candidate in this league and looks to propel the Thunder to 2-0 in the series. He has a great chance to hit his points line tonight, but let’s look at the stats.
- Shai had 28 points in game 1
- He averages 30.1 points per game
- He averages 30.8 points per game at home
- In his last 10 games vs New Orleans, Shai has hit this line in 6 of the
- Shai led the league this season in 30-point games at 51 games
The best odds for this line are -120 on DraftKings and ESPN Bet. Shai has led this team in scoring all year, and we need him to show up again. Game 1 of this series was very low-scoring, an I expect this game to have a bit more points to go around, helping Gilgeous-Alexander get over this line.
Chet Holmgren (Thunder) Over 15.5 Points (-118)
I also like another player for the Thunder. Chet Holmgren has had an amazing rookie season, and he’s not done yet. looking at the stats, Holmgren has a great chance to score lots of points against the Pelicans tonight.
- Chet had 15+ points in 54 of 82 games this season
- He had 16+ points in 46 of 82 games this season
- Holmgren played 3 games vs the Pelicans
- 16 points
- 19 points
- 20 points
- Chet had 14 field goal attempts in game 1
- He has hit this line in 19 of 24 games with 14+ FGA this season
- He averages 16.5 points per game
The best odds for this line are -118 on DraftKings or FanDuel. Holmgren had a great volume of shots in game 1 and has a good matchup against the much slower Jonas Valanciunas. We need Holmgren to shoot a little bit better tonight to get us to 16 points. This could be a game in which he gets himself going offensively. And tonight, he’s more than likely to do so against this New Orleans Pelicans defense.
