The Philadelphia 76ers (39-35) take on the Toronto Raptors (23-50). These are two teams that are greatly affected by injuries at this point. For the 76ers, they are waiting for their star player to get back. On the other side of things, health toward the top end of this roster has been a consistent theme all season long.
But between who’s listed on the report, which player affects how you’re approaching this game the most?
Philadelphia 76ers vs Toronto Raptors Injuries
Philadelphia 76ers
Player | Injury | Status |
Robert Covington | Knee | Out |
De’Anthony Melton | Back | Out |
Joel Embiid | Knee | Out |
The Philadelphia 76ers clearly need Embiid back. For all the talk of this team being able to tread water until his return, those hopes appear to be greatly overestimated at this point. Despite some of the moves at the trade deadline, for the most part, in terms of overall effectiveness and being able to hang with good teams, they have been for nothing.

RJ Barrett is dealing with a personal family matter. He has understandably taken some time off, but it looks like he may be nearing a return to the court for the Toronto Raptors soon. If not against the Philadelphia 76ers, then it is expected that he will be playing and suiting up here in the near future.

Philadelphia 76ers Pinning Hopes
Everyone knows how important aEmbiidis to this Philadelphia 76ers side. And as stated earlier the overall lack of players who could step up in his absence was something of a disappointment. Even though there aren’t many games left in the regular season him being back in getting some chemistry and into something resembling game shape is the only path for this team to potentially Make some noise in the playoffs.
However, as has often been the case it looks like this will be another lost year due to injury. If fully healthy this is a dangerous Philadelphia 76ers team but unfortunately that’s looking like a near impossibility.
