Game Prediction
Both of these teams are fighting to avoid the play-in tournament as a top-6 seed is still within reach. However, with the absence of superstar Joel Embiid, the 76ers offense has struggled. They have failed to top 110 points in nearly three weeks and all of the scoring load has been put on the shoulders of Tyrese Maxey. If Tobias Harris returns tonight that will help but I still think it won’t be enough against the duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, especially with the elite defenders of RoCo and Melton sitting this one out.
The Lakers have their own struggles to deal with, one of them being when they play against a dominant big man. Los Angeles has had problems stopping players like Domantas Sabonis and Nikola Jokic. However, with the reigning MVP dealing with an injury, the Lakers will be able to use their size as an advantage. Anthony Davis will be able to dominate the paint on both sides of the ball while LeBron James can drive to the lane at will with no elite rim protector. Therefore, I am picking the Lakers to cover the spread at home.
