The Philadelphia 76ers (38-32) travel to the Los Angeles Clippers (44-25) on Sunday afternoon. This is an interesting game, and neither side has all of the stars that were available to them on the roster at the beginning of the year. However, the injuries disproportionately affect the 76ers. Philadelphia’s on a two-game losing streak. Meanwhile, Los Angeles is on a two-game winning streak. However, both sides have struggled more than they would like to admit at this point in the season.
So do you see the 76ers being able to keep tonight close against the Clippers?

Key Stats
Philadelphia 76ers
Philadelphia is just hoping to stay above .500 until Joel Emiid gets back. But in the meantime, Tyrese Maxey is proving to be a capable primary scoring option. Maxey averages 25.8 points per game. Meanwhile, Tobias Harris is averaging 17.1 points per game. But he has scored 15 or fewer points in three out of his last five matchups. Therefore, if the Philadelphia 76ers are going to hope to beat the Los Angeles Clippers, he needs to score closer to the 20–25 range.
Los Angeles Clippers
Los Angeles needs to find a way to win without all of their players being available. Notably, Russell Westbrook is expected to be back soon. However, this team has seen a noticeable dip since he last stepped foot on the court. Therefore, Kawhi Leonard needs to show that he can still be one of the better two-way players in the league tonight against a depleted Philadelphia 76ers team. Leonard averages 23.8 points per game. Furthermore, James Harden is someone to keep an eye on. Harden averages 17.3 points per game for the Los Angeles Clippers.

Game Prediction
This game will be closer than expected. The Los Angeles Clippers are by far the better team, and I have more talent, but their struggles are well documented at this point. Until the players either prove otherwise or they get the full cast back healthy, it’s hard to see the Clippers team beat anyone by 10 points.
This pick has less to do with the overall strength of the Clippers moving forward or their playoff potential. And this has even less to do with how the 76ers have looked without Embiid. Again, this is more about the Clippers needing everyone to be fully healthy or for everyone else to simply step up in a major way. But until I see that happen, I’m going to go with the Philadelphia 76ers covering the spread.
Final Pick
Philadelphia 76ers +9.5
