Key Stats
New Orleans Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans are coming off a brutal loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on home court in the first game of this play-in tournament. Not only did they lose, but they lost their star, Zion Williamson. Zion scored 40 points in that game before he left early due to injury.
Without Zion, two guys will have to step up and score: Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum. Both of these guys played less than 30 minutes in that close game vs. the Lakers and each scored less than 12 points. Ingram averages 20.8 points and McCollum averages 20.0 points on the season.
Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings, however, are on the other end of the momentum spectrum. They just had a decisive win over Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors, and they had some of their role players step up in the absence of Malik Monk and Kevin Huerter. 2 examples of this are Keon Ellis and Keegan Murray.
Keon Ellis had three three-pointers, three steals, and two blocks. Keegan Murray finished with 32 points, eight 3-pointers, and two steals. Both of these guys played great defense on Steph Curry as well throughout the game. However, that game was on their home court. The Kings have to show that they can win on the road now in this game vs New Orleans.

Game Prediction
I love momentum. I think the Kings have been playing super well, and the Pelicans look all out of sorts. The Pelicans are at home, but they have lost 6 straight games at home. Brandon Ingram has not looked like himself since coming back from injury, and Zion was really picking up the slack for him.
Now that Zion is out, that hurts New Orleans on the court and is demoralizing off the court. At this point, I just can’t trust the Pelicans to play a complete game of basketball. The Kings on the other hand have looked good and are 24-16-1 against the spread on the road this season.
Final Pick
Sacramento Kings +1 (-110)
