Oregon Ducks vs Arizona Wildcats Preview, Predictions, and Odds | March 15, 2024

The Oregon Ducks (21-11, 12-8 P12) take on the Arizona Wildcats (25-7, 15-5 P12) in the Pac-12 tournament semi-finals Friday night. This will be the third meeting between the two teams this year, with Arizona winning the previous two fairly handily.

Each team opened up their Pac-12 tournament Thursday afternoon, with Arizona dominating USC and Oregon grinding out a win vs UCLA.

Will Oregon get one game closer to stealing an automatic NCAA tournament birth or will Arizona advance to the Pac-12 tournament championship game for the 3rd consecutive year?

Key Stats

The Oregon Ducks kept their season alive as they outlasted UCLA on Thursday afternoon. Now for the Ducks, they get another crack at Arizona. In the previous two matchups vs Arizona, the Ducks have given up a whopping 87 and 103 points in losses to the explosive Wildcats. Also, something to keep an eye on for the Ducks is leading scorer Jermaine Couisnard’s (15.3 PPG) status, as he was having shoulder discomfort throughout the game vs UCLA. Couisnard scored 39 points vs Arizona earlier this month.

The Arizona Wildcats offense has been great all year (89.5 PPG), but what was most impressive in their win vs USC was that they held the Trojans to just 16 points in the first half. Not needing an offensive outburst and still being able to handily beat USC is a good sign for the Wildcats going forward as they attempt to get to their first final four since 2001. Arizona is led by Pac-12 Player of the Year Caleb Love (18.5 PPG).

Game Prediction

Arizona has been a nightmare matchup for Oregon this season. If Oregon gets down early, this game could get ugly. However, Oregon, as beat up as they are right now, showed a lot of heart in Thursday’s win vs a physical UCLA team. I see Oregon with their season on the line hanging in tough this game and keeping it close most of the game. Give me the Oregon Ducks covering this big number.

Final Pick

Oregon Ducks +12
