NHL Best Bets and Player Props 2/15/24

NHL best bets and player props for 02/15/2024

We had a nice night of hockey tonight heading into the weekend. Here are some of our favorite bets from the guys on “The Stew with JT Brew” podcast, which airs its “NHL Around the Ice” segment every Wednesday night on Total Apex Sports YouTube channel. Here are the NHL best bets and player props for February 15, 2024.

NHL Best Bets: Pittsburgh Penguins (-192) at Chicago Blackhawks (+160) – 8:30 PM EST

Over/Under 5.5 Goals

The Penguins have been stingy of late, giving up only an average of two goals per game in their last five games, until the Florida Panthers scorched them for five goals in a 5-2 defeat last night. Goalies Tristan Jarry and Alex Nedeljkovic have been solid in the crease.

The Blackhawks have been really good at playing a grind-it-out form of hockey this season. Coach Luke Richardson is a mild-mannered, no-nonsense type of coach; however, after a poor showing against Vancouver, he lit into his team and had them practice yesterday on their day off. This is out of the ordinary for Richardson, and it got his players’ attention.

There is a chance rookie sensation Connor Bedard will return to the ice tonight for Chicago. While that would give this offense a boost, I wouldn’t be expecting a load of goals scored. The Blackhawks have scored two goals or less in 11 of their last 13 games, with four shutouts in that time span.

Single Bets – Alternate Under 6 Total Goals (-140), Chicago Alternate Puck Line +1.5 (-155) on Draft Kings.

Two Leg Parlay – Under 5.5 Goals and Chicago +1.5 (+170) on Draft Kings.

NHL Best Bets: Detroit Red Wings (+154) at Vancouver Canucks (-185) – 10:00 PM EST

Over/Under 6.5 Goals

The Detroit Red Wings have been playing in some high-scoring games of late. There have been seven goals or more scored in four of their last six games, and these two teams just played in a 4-3 win by the Vancouver Canucks just five days ago.

The Canucks are second in the league in goals scored, and the Red Wings are fifth. These two teams are also first and second in the league in team shooting percentage, Canucks 13.09% and Red Wings 12.05%, to boot. I expect the lamp to be lit numerous times tonight.

The Red Wings have been extremely good on the power play this season. They have the top power play rate in the league at 37.5%. The Canucks are giving up 3.5 power-play opportunities per game. This leads me to think this game goes over and has me looking at power-play points for the Red Wings.

Single Bets – Over Alternate Total Goals 6 (-165), Dylan Larkin over 0.5 power play points (+280) on Draft Kings.

NHL Best Bets: Anaheim Ducks (+185) at Ottawa Senators (-225) – 7:00 PM EST

Over/Under 6.5 Goals

The Ducks have been awful in their last 37 games. Since November 11th, Anaheim is 8-29. It has just been a mess.

The Senators are coming off a blowout win against the Columbus Blue Jackets, who then fired their coach after the game. Ottawa has won four straight and will look to stay hot. Brady Tkachuk had a hat trick against the Blue Jackets. I think he keeps it rolling in this one and keeps shooting and scoring.

Single Bets – Ottawa Moneyline (-225), B Tkachuk over 0.5 points (-210), B Tkachuk over 4.5 shots on goal (+105) on Draft Kings.

Three-Pick Parlay – Ottawa ML, B Tkachuk anytime point, and B Tkachuk over 4.5 shots on goal (+218) on Draft Kings.
