Things heat back up tonight in the NHL. There is a small slate of games with a few interesting bets to be made. Let’s look at what the guys from “The Stew with JT Brew” podcast, which airs its “NHL Around the Ice” segment every Wednesday night on Total Apex Sports YouTube channel, have cooked up for you. Here are the best bets and player props for February 12, 2024.
Seattle Kraken (+114) at New Jersey Devils (-135) – 6:00 PM CST
Over/Under 6.5 Goals (-110)

Both teams have been inconsistent lately so the moneyline is off the table. The Kraken love to play a low-scoring, defensive-minded game while the Devils are a mirror opposite, with total disregard for defense and goaltending. Since January 15th, Seattle has been on meltdown, winning only twice while dropping seven. New Jersey is not much better during that span, showing a 3-7 record. New Jersey has shown the ability to score goals at home regardless of the opponent. With that, player props may be the only play in this one. I would look to Devil forwards Jesper Bratt or Nico Hischier.
Single Bets – Jesper Bratt (NJD) Anytime Point (-195), Nico Hischier Anytime Point (-166) on Draft Kings.
Calgary Flames (+136) at New York Rangers (-162) – 6:00 PM CST
Over/Under 6 Goals (-110)

The Flames are setting their opponents on fire of late, winners of four straight and with wins over good clubs on the road in Boston and the New York Islanders. Although the Rangers have also won four straight games, they don’t look as crisp as they did earlier in the season. Ranger goaltending has been very shaky of late, as they look to get Igor Shesterkin back on track tonight. He has been disappointing this season with a .899 SV%. The numbers say to stay clear of the money lines for either team, however, my gut tells me that Calgary at +136 price is the only play. Since trading Elias Lindholm to Vancouver and acquiring Andrei Kuzmenko, they have been a resurgent club that seems to have a new life. A player to watch will be Nazem Kadri, as the Flames center has seven assists in his last 6 games. Also, Alexis Lafreniere has turned it on of late, with three goals in his last four games and has been shooting the puck at a high clip with 5-3-3-3-3 shots in his last five games.
Single Bets – Alexis Lafreniere (NYR) Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (+100) on Draft Kings.
Arizona Coyotes (+130) at Philadelphia Flyers (-155) – 6:00 PM CST
Over/Under 6 Goals (-110)

Finally, a game where gamblers can feel good playing the money line. Arizona is on a five-game skid and giving up goals in bunches during that span. It appears that John Tortorella must have lit into his squad coming out of the All-Star break. The Flyers have responded by winning all three games versus good competition in Seattle, Winnipeg, and Florida. Philadelphia looks back to goalie Sam Ersson tonight to keep the streak alive, and he has been very good of late giving up back-to-back single goals in his last two starts. Flyer forward Travis Konecny has been lighting the lamp of late and given the Coyotes and goaltender Karel Vejmelka’s recent struggles, could be primed for another goal or two tonight.
Single Bets – Philadelphia Flyers Money Line (-155), Travis Konecny Anytime Goal (+120) on Draft Kings.
