We return for another MLB parlay tonight. Yesterday, we went 2-1 ATS, and the parlay narrowly missed with the White Sox losing 3-2. If you followed us during the NFL and NCAA basketball seasons, you know our selections target games seeing respected money or those where Vegas books have a heavy liability. In other words, the betting outcome that Vegas books need to profit on the day. The betting lines discussed are the consensus at Vegas Insider and are subject to change.
Parlay Leg #1: NY Mets/Miami Marlins over 8.5
To open things up, our initial play will be the Mets-Marlins over 8.5. Early money on this game has seen the total set at 8, moving up to its current 8.5. It is a bit worrisome to 90% of the bets on the over, but there is some respected money in there that caused to books to move the number. This play also fits into the rule of three system play discussed in our betting edge series. New York has played to three straight under, the system calls to go opposite in the fourth game. The over is 3-0 in the Mets’ last three games as a favorite and 7-3 in their last 10 games at Miami.
Parlay Leg #2: Seattle Mariners ML +120
The middle leg of tonight’s parlay is the Seattle Mariners over the Detroit Tigers. As we look into the numbers, we spotted a line hold with the favored Tigers seeing nearly 70% of the money bets, and the number has held firm at its opening line of Detroit -120.
Seattle comes into the game at 2-2 SU on the young season. The Mariners are 6-4 SU in their last 10 overall at home and 6-4 ATS in the last 10 as an underdog. On the other side of the ledger, Detroit sits at 0-3 SU on the year and 1-7 SU in their last 8 overall. Play number two: Seattle Mariners on the moneyline.
Parlay Leg #3: Cleveland Guardians ML +135
The final and anchor leg of tonight’s parlay will be the Cleveland Guardians over the San Diego Padres. Just like Seattle, we have another line hold here with the Padres netting almost 60% of the money line bets, but the respected money on Cleveland has held the number steady at +135. Cleveland is 4-1 SU in their last five on the road and 2-1 SU in their last three as an underdog versus the Padres.
Despite San Diego having a very good record overall, both SU and ATS, they are just 5-5 against the number in the last 10 as a favorite. We will back the Guardians on the money line here to close out tonight’s MLB parlay of the day.
Final Thoughts
The beauty of our parlays is that we can provide you with three selections. Remember, we will also play these picks SU on the money line because parlays are not a long-term profitable betting strategy. We look to avoid public plays, which tend to be the betting favorites.
