The MLB season is upon us, and we are ready to begin our weekly parlay plays. If you followed us during the NFL and NCAA basketball seasons, you know our selections target games seeing respected money or those where Vegas books have a heavy liability. In other words, the betting outcome that Vegas books need to profit on the day. The betting lines discussed are the consensus at Vegas Insider and are subject to change.
Parlay Leg #1: Washington Nationals +148
The opening leg of today’s parlay is the Washington Nationals over the Philadelphia Phillies. Play number one, we spot a reverse line movement, which is a staple play of ours. The favored Phillies are seeing 96% of the money, yet the money line has dropped in the opposite direction. Washington opened at +162, and that number has since dropped to +148.
This is very telling here as the sharps are backing Washington despite the 0-2 SU start to the season. Despite Philadelphia’s very good SU numbers against the Nationals of late, we will back Washington here. The Nats are 6-4 SU in their last 10 overall as an underdog for +1.45 units. Play number one, Washington Nationals +148 over the Phillies.
Parlay Leg #2: Miami Marlins +112
The middle leg of today’s parlay is the Miami Marlins over the Pittsburgh Pirates. We spotted another reverse line movement, as the Pirates are seeing 67% of the money, and yet the line continues to move in the Marlins’ direction. The +115 opening moneyline number has since dropped to its current +112.
The home underdog Marlins are sitting at 2-1 SU and a perfect 3-0 ATS early on in 2025. The Marlins are a profitable 3-2 SU in their last five and 5-4-1 in the last 10 as an underdog. Pittsburgh has opened the season 1-2 SU, 0-3 ATS and shown a leaky bullpen. For play number two, we will back the Miami Marlins +112 over the Pirates, who are just 1-9 SU in their last 10 on the road.
Parlay Leg #3: Chicago White Sox +125
The anchor leg of today’s parlay will be the Chicago White Sox over the Los Angeles Angels. Right on par with our first two picks, we have another reverse line movement going on. The Angels are getting 69% of the money and 64% of the bets, and despite that, the line has moved in favor of the White Sox. Chicago has started the year off at 1-1 SU and 2-0 ATS.
Versus the Angels, Chicago is 6-3-1 SU in the last 10 and 7-2-1 in the last 10 at home. Looking at the Los Angeles side, they are 3-6-1in their last 10 as a favorite and just 2-7-1 in their last 10 overall.
