Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings are coming off a dominant win against the Chicago Bears on Monday, 30-12. Sam Darnold was solid in the win by completing 24 of 40 passes for 231 yards, a touchdown, and one interception. Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison combined for 14 catches for 136 yards and a touchdown.

Running back Aaron Jones had a good game with 106 yards from scrimmage, 86 rushing, and 20 receiving. He also scored his 50th career rushing touchdown in the win. If you want to talk about firepower, the Vikings have all the firepower they could need to make a deep playoff run in the NFC.

Defensively, this team is elite. They are ranked 4th in points allowed per game, 29th in passing yards allowed per game, 2nd in rushing yards allowed per game, 4th in offensive touchdowns allowed, 4th in sacks, and 2nd in takeaways per game.

When you look at the injuries, Ivan Pace Jr. has missed his minimum games on injury reserved so he might come back soon. Stephon Gilmore is a name to keep tabs on in the injury report. He missed the game against the Bears due to a hamstring injury. This defense could use a veteran DB with two games to go in the regular season and the playoffs

Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks are looking to bounce back this week after getting trounced by the Green Bay Packers last week, 30-13. Geno Smith was efficient until he was injured in the 3rd quarter and had to leave the game. Smith was 15 of 19 for 149 yards and an interception. Sam Howell would be inserted for him and would go 5 of 14 passing for 24 yards and one interception.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba was excellent with 10 catches for 83 yards. Zach Charbonnet was good in the absence of Kenneth Walker III with 54 rushing yards on 8 carries, he also scored a 24-yard rushing touchdown.

The Seattle Seahawks’ defense has been in the middle of the pack. They rank 15th in points allowed per game, 13th in passing yards allowed per game, 22nd in rushing yards allowed per game, 15th in offensive touchdowns allowed, 20th in sacks, and 15th in takeaways per game. In terms of injuries, Geno Smith is questionable for this game with the knee injury he suffered during the game.

Kenneth Walker is questionable with the calf injury that has kept him sidelined for the past two weeks. If Smith can’t go and Howell is under center, it will be a tall task to beat the 12-2 Vikings without your starting quarterback.

Prediction

The Minnesota Vikings are going to beat the brakes off the Seattle Seahawks in this game and cover the 3-point spread. This is a bad matchup for a Seattle team that is going against a superior team in the Vikings. This Minnesota defense has been hellacious when it comes to forcing turnovers. Whether it’s Geno or Sam starting, both quarterbacks have tendencies to turn the ball over.

In terms of the most important matchup to me, the defensive line of the Vikings will pulverize an inferior offensive line that had a terrible performance last week. The Vikings move to 13-2 and close the gap between them and the Detroit Lions.

Final Pick

Minnesota Vikings -3 (-115)
