Miami Heat vs Cleveland Cavaliers Preview, Predictions, Odds | March 20, 2024

New York Knicks and Miami Heat

The Miami Heat (37-31) head to Cleveland to face the Cavaliers (43-25). The Heat are coming off a 98-91 loss against the 76ers, while the Cavaliers are coming off a 108-103 win against the Pacers. The last time these two teams met was back in December, the Cavaliers won 111-99.

Miami has had a rough few games. They almost lost to the 14th-place Detroit Pistons and not too long ago they lost to the last-place Washington Wizards. Right now they are hanging on to their 8th place play-in spot and are a few games up on the Chicago Bulls. On the other hand, Cleveland is 3rd in the east and has had a very solid season. If they beat Miami tonight and the Bucks lose to the Celtics, they would tie the Bucks second place record.

Key Stats

Miami Heat

The Miami Heat season has been ok, but they could be doing better. In their last ten games, they have a record of 4-6. They are lucky that the Chicago Bulls are a few games behind them and not a current threat. Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler are both still questionable which means the bench needs to step up. Terry Rozier is coming off of a 20-point game and if Butler and Adebayo are still injured Rozier will be a key part of winning tonight’s game.

Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers have had a great season so far. With not a lot of games left it seems like they might be able to finish the regular season in 3rd place. The only problem for Cleveland is their scoring leader Donovan Mitchell is out still. With him unable to play a good game Jarrett Allen and Darius Garland will be critical. In their narrow win over the Pacers Garland only had 13 points so hopefully he has a better game tonight.

Injury Report

Miami Heat

  • Bam Adebayo – Questionable
  • Jimmy Butler – Questionable
  • Nikola Jovic – Questionable
  • Duncan Robinson – Out
  • Tyler Herro – Out
  • Josh Richardson – Out
  • Kevin Love – Out

Cleveland Cavaliers

  • Dean Wade – Out
  • Max Struss – Out
  • Donovan Mitchel – Out
  • Evan Mobley – Out
  • Ty Jerome – Out

Game Prediction

Though the Heat are in 8th place, they are still a great team capable of snuffing out opponents. In this case though, with all of their injuries, there is a good chance the Cavaliers will take the win. The Heat are missing their top three players. Yes, the Cavs are injured, but not as badly giving them a leg up.

Final Pick

Cleveland Cavaliers -2 and Under 204.5
