Memphis Grizzlies vs Milwaukee Bucks Preview, Prediction and Odds| February 15 2024

Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies play the Milwaukee Bucks after an impressive Valentine’s Day victory. Will they be able to keep it close tonight? (19-36) host the  Milwaukee Bucks (35-20) for their last game before the All-Star Break. Although the home team is coming off a strong performance, they will hope to build on their last victory. However, the away side dropped a game against an undermanned Miami Heat team that they would like to get back. Also, while the home side is playing after a win, they were losers of their last nine. It remains to be seen if they have turned a page or if they’ll return to their prior form. But for tonight, they are expected to lose. In fact, the oddsmakers are picking them to lose by over 11 points tonight!

But do you see Memphis being able to keep this game within single digits tonight?

Memphis Grizzlies

Although he’s dealing with an ankle injury, the Memphis Grizzlies could use Desmond Bane tonight. Unfortunately, he will not be evaluated until after the break concerning his ankle injury. However, Luke Kennard had a nice night. The former Duke Blue Devil finished with 19 points on 4-6 shooting from range. Especially on a back-to-back, he needs to be a spark plug from his shooting role. GG Jackson went for an additional 20 points and nine rebounds off the bench. Players stepping up helps take the pressure off Jaren Jackson Jr. Although he can play extended minutes and chip in more scoring if needed.

Realistically, wins stem from the defense. While scoring outbursts can happen, keeping tonight as low of a scoring game as possible gives this Memphis Grizzlies team a shot at the end. Even if the Bucks are considerable favorites. However, they have the personnel in their frontcourt to at least challenge Milwaukee’s All-Star players. Even in a loss, tonight a moral victory would count for something.

Milauwakee has a bad taste in their mouth after last night’s loss. Although the Heat often play well without Jimmy Butler, they took it to them. The Milwaukee Bucks have also been inconsistent since acquiring (remember he was only advising earlier) Doc Rivers to be their head coach. However, skeptics of the skeptics claim that they are focused on the playoffs. Regardless, they will want to show an increased product on the court before

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard are listed as questionable for tonight. However, their current status further details as probable and will likely play tonight against the Memphis Grizzlies. Also, Khris Middleton remains out for the fixture. But they still have the services of Malik Beasley who continues to be hot from three-point range. Against the Heat, he went 4 of 8 from three, while two games before that he impressively went 7 of 9 against the Charlotte Hornets. Regardless if there is an upcoming long weekend or not, this is a game that the Bucks need to start to right the ship on.

Game Prediction

While Coach Rivers was brought in for his defense, the results have suffered. Even while having good personnel, the Bucks can’t seem to piece a good all-around game together anywhere consistently enough. But they will face a Memphis Grizzlies team who do not possess the offensive upside other teams do. Additionally, the home side will look to grind this game out down low. They aren’t as efficient from three and need to go mostly through their front-court play. However, this plays into the Milwaukee Bucks hands.

Therefore, I am taking the under. A high-scoring game is not on the horizon and I expect both teams to look disorganized and to struggle offensively tonight. Additionally, there are too many issues for the Bucks to ignore. they need the upcoming break more than anyone. Consequently, I see the Memphis Grizzlies able to keep in close enough to consider picking them to cover the spread. But picking them to win outright is too risky from a betting perspective.

Final Pick

Memphis Grizzlies +11.5 and Under 223
