Manager Erik ten Hag still has a squad strong enough to compete. Academy star Harry Amass has been doing well at left back during the pre-season tour and it would be no surprise to see him given a chance tomorrow.
Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro are solid starts in the midfield as well. With Hojlund out through injury, I could see Sancho trying to get that redemption back up top as he spent last season with Borussia Dortmund. Josh Zirkzee, recently acquired from Italian side Bologna, may also debut.

Goalkeeper Ederson has emerged as a doubt for Saturday’s clash after missing the friendly win against Chelsea. Euro 2024 finalists John Stones, Kyle Walker, Phil Foden, and Rodri are yet to report back to first team action and will in fact not be ready in time for the match.
Summer signing, Savio, may make his long awaited debut at winger. Promising youngsters Nico O’Reilly and James McAtee may feature as well. City’s squad depth is what makes them so tough to beat, as many players who do not usually start, would easily start on many other teams.
Prediction
The Manchester derby is always an exciting fixture to watch, especially for neutrals. It seems as though each derby goes back and forth between the two sides. The last time they played, Manchester United won the FA cup in dramatic fashion. Due to this, I see Manchester City getting their revenge by a score of 2-0.
