Key Stats
Kansas City Royals
The Kansas City Royals are looking to get more momentum going. Over their last ten games, they have a record of 6-4 and are starting Brady Singer as their starting pitcher. As a starter, he has a record of 7-6. He has had success against the White Sox batters in his career, holding them to a .273 batting average, 90/330 overall. Over his last four starts, Singer has three quality starts, including in each of his last two games. In those quality starts, he has gone seven innings and only given up one run.
To switch to the offensive side of the diamond, they are led by Bobby Witt Jr. He has been playing at an MVP level all season long and leads the team in batting average (.347) which is first in MLB, RBIs (75), OBP (.391), and hits (148). In game one of this series, he went 4/5 and had the game-winning grand slam in the top of the eighth inning. Expect him to keep his bat hot for the entirety of the series.
Chicago White Sox
The Chicago White Sox have been PITIFUL in the month of July. They have only won three games this month, including 16 straight losses, and I don’t expect this to turn around in tomorrow’s game. Drew Thorpe has been named the probable pitcher in this game. Historically, Thorpe has had very good success against the Royals’ batters, holding them to a .150 batting average including 3-20 overall. However, Thorpe is coming off of a beating, in his last start. He didn’t even make it out of the first inning, giving up six hits, walking two batters, and giving up eight runs before getting pulled.
The White Sox have been the worst offense in the MLB. During their 16 game losing streak, they have only scored four or more runs in two of those games. They are led by Andrew Vaughn, who leads the team in batting average (.234), RBIs (46), and hits (88). Luis Robert Jr. is looking to keep his bat hot in this game. In game one of the series, he went 3/4 with an RBI. If the White Sox want to win this game, it will have to come from those two and Thorpe on the mound.
Prediction
I am predicting and expecting the Kansas City Royals to CRUISE to another multi-run win. This is a bad matchup for the White Sox. The Royals have been the better team all season long and it has showed. This game could get ugly fast. For all the reasons listed above, that is my prediction.
Final Pick
Kansas City Royals -1.5 (-118)
