Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off a great win last week over the Buffalo Bills, 32-29, and are advancing to their 3rd straight Super Bowl. Patrick Mahomes was great in the win. He completed 18 of 26 passes for 245 yards and a touchdown. Mahomes also set a season-high in rushing attempts with 11 and finished the game with 11 carries for 43 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Xavier Worthy chose a great time to have his best game of the season. He finished the game with 6 catches for 85 yards, 101 yards from scrimmage, and a touchdown. This is a team that just wins, it’s not always flashy, but, they continue to win.

Defensively, despite giving up 29 points, this Chiefs’ defense did a good job on the Bills. They held them to 5/14 on 3rd down, sacked Josh Allen twice, and forced 3 fumbles. In terms of injuries, there aren’t any to monitor. They don’t have any players listed as questionable at this point. If this team is going to complete the threepeat, it’s going to start and end with their defense. We have seen Saquon Barkley dominate all three playoff games thus far. If he continues his dominance, this game will be an uphill battle for the Kansas City Chiefs to pull off the three-peat.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a dominating win last week against the Washington Commanders, 55-23. Jalen Hurts was excellent in the win by completing 20 of 28 passes for 246 yards and a touchdown. Hurts also scored 3 rushing touchdowns. Saquon Barkley did Saquon things once again. He finished the game with 118 rushing yards on 15 carries and 3 touchdowns. AJ Brown had his best game of the playoffs with 6 catches for 96 yards and a touchdown. In terms of firepower, they arguably have the most in the NFL.

Defensively, this team has been excellent all season long. In the NFC Championship, they forced the Commanders to turn the ball over four times. Washington hasn’t turned the ball over in the previous two games. This defense also sacked Jayden Daniels 3 times in the win. In terms of injuries, they have a few injuries on the offensive line that could be impactful. Landon Dickerson and Cam Jurgens are listed as questionable for this game. If one or either of them can’t go, those are massive holes for such a dominant offensive line.

Prediction

The Kansas City Chiefs are going to win this game and cover the 1.5-point spread in this game over the Philadelphia Eagles. Mahomes has the “Brady Effect” where if he’s got the ball late, there’s been zero evidence to show he will not pull through. Andy Reid has a record of 21-4 coming off a bye since he became the head coach of the Chiefs. The heartbeat of Philly’s offense, Saquon Barkley, has broken defenses with long TD runs and that won’t happen against the Chiefs.

KC is arguably the best tackling team in the NFL and they don’t give up big plays. The Kansas City Chiefs pull off the NFL’s first threepeat in Super Bowl 59.

Final Pick

Kansas City Chiefs -1.5 (-110)
