Game Prediction

Houston has been on fire as of late, winning ten games in a row. They are hunting down the Warriors for the last play-in spot in the West. The Rockets look unstoppable right now and they have picked up quality wins over teams like OKC, Cleveland, and Sacramento. Despite losing their star center in Alperen Sengun, this squad has continued to excel thanks to the offensive explosion by Jalen Green.

Meanwhile, Utah is on the complete opposite side of the spectrum. They have lost seven games in a row and are eliminated from the playoffs. The Jazz have nothing to play for at this point in the season and they are preparing for the offseason. Utah’s 2024 draft pick is top-10 protected, meaning that they keep it if it lands between 1-10. If it lands anywhere after that, it heads over to Oklahoma City. Therefore, it seems like the Jazz are content with losing and just giving their young players some NBA minutes.

Overall, I am rolling with the Houston Rockets to cover the spread on the road. They have been looking amazing for the past few weeks while the Jazz have looked vulnerable. Utah also will be without their third-leading scorer in Jordan Clarkson, so points will be even harder to come by for this squad. I think this will be an easy victory for the Houston Rockets and they will inch one step closer to overtaking the Warriors in the standings.

Final Pick

Houston Rockets -7.5 (-108)
