Last week, the Green Bay Packers beat the Indianapolis Colts 16-10. The score may not have been impressive, but how they played was. Without Jordan Love, Green Bay only needed Malik Willis to throw the ball 14 times for the entire game. Josh Jacobs had a dominating game on the ground. Rushing the ball 32 times for 151 yards is the second most yards that anyone has run for this season thus far. They dominated the time of possession battle, 40:11 minutes to 19:49. That was an old school gameplan last week against the Colts.
Defensively they were exceptional, forcing holding Indy to 2/9 on 3rd down and forcing three interceptions. That was a big reason for the time of possession battle was so lopsided. They forced Anthony Richardson to 17/34 passing for 204 yards one touchdown and those three picks I mentioned. However, Jonathan Taylor had a good game. He carried the ball 12 times for 104 yards and added two catches for 32 yards. If the Packers are going to beat the Titans this week, they are going to need to stop the run and force Will Levis into the turnover machine he can be.
Tennessee Titans
The Tennessee Titans are coming off back-to-back devastating losses. In Week One, they blew a 17-point lead to the Bears without allowing an offensive touchdown, and then last week they lost to the Jets after being up 7-0, Will Levis makes a boneheaded play in the red zone that took points off the board. Tony Pollard had a good game, 17 carries for 62 yards, and also added five catches for 40 yards. This offense is first in the NFL, committing 2.5 turnovers per game. The Titans need to play a clean game this week on offense if they have any hope of winning this game.
The Titans’ defense has been fantastic this season yard wise. They are first in the NFL in offensive passing yards per game (114) and 10th in rushing yards allowed per game (92.5). Tennessee’s defense has kept them in both games they have played. Against the Jets, they generated two sacks, six tackles for loss, and three quarterback hits. Their only issue is that Will Levis has shown over the first two games of the season, he has cost them both games.
Prediction
I am picking the Green Bay Packers to win this game. This is a coaching mismatch. Matt LaFleur is an excellent offensive coach and will put backup quarterback Malik Willis in the best position to succeed, just like he did last week. I do not expect Josh Jacobs to go for 150 again, however, I do not have faith in Will Levis. In back-to-back weeks, he has made two of the worst turnovers you will ever see. The Titans will keep them in the game, however, the Green Bay Packers will get a lead early and force Levis to press and turn the ball over just like he did the previous two weeks.
