Golden State Warriors vs Washington Wizards Preview, Predictions and Odds| February 27 2024

Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors (29-27) travel to the Washington Wizards (9-48) for a Tuesday night game. While the home side usually gets the benefit of the doubt, today’s hosts have earned the opposite equivalent. The home team is not a good ball club. Firstly, their roster lacks talent. Moreover, the players on their team aren’t buying and look to boost individual stats over anything else.

Conversely, the visitors maintain legitimate playoff hopes. While they lost their most recent game to the Denver Nuggets, they won their previous three games. However, these two played in the Bay Area during December and it was an eleven-point game.

Do you see the favorites winning by eleven points again tonight?

Golden State Warriors

Golden State looks to get back on track after a loss to the NBA Champions. Although they have played well as of late, there are concerns. But issues remain of playing and relying on mostly an aging and veteran roster. While they have star power and high-ceiling potential, there’s an ongoing doubt that this roster can muster another championship run. However, if they are going to win it all again, their more experienced players will need to tap into their fuel reserves for one more Golden State Warriors run.

Also, Chris Paul is expected back after a lengthy injury concern with his hand. Additionally, Klay Thompson looks to get back on track. While he scored 23 points against the Nuggets, he scored 13 points and 3 points in his previous two games respectively. However, even when he scores a lot off the bench, it appears a reserve role best fits him and the Golden State Warriors at this point. But Steph Curry needs to be able to create a gap and ensure that he can sit for a lot of the fourth quarter against the Washington Wizards.

Washington hopes to keep tonight competitive. But tonight should be a tough outing for the Wizards. Additionally, it’s not going to be a close game, even if their best scorers have a good game. Because it’s all relative, unless several players have career highs against the Golden State Warriors, then it will be a devastating defeat. Instead, this team needs to find pieces that they like and believe in for their future in games like tonight.

Washington pulling off the win would be phenomenal. While the former Golden State Warriors player hopes to see something of a revenge game, Jordan Poole is likely to try too hard today. Despite his recent benching, it appears he’s not going to change his style of play. Particularly as they are playing his former team, the Washington Wizards are going to suffer as a result of his play. Additionally, Kyle Kuzma is coming off a  27-point night, if he can get going, then it’s possible the Wizards cover against the Golden State Warriors, though unlikely.

Game Prediction

As stated, this won’t be close. Even if the Wizards play close in the first half, the Golden State Warriors will want to make an example of them and make sure that there’s zero life in this game. While eleven is a lot of points, I still like the visitors to cover the spread tonight. Although a backdoor cover is always a concern, sticking with the heavy favorites is the smart play for this game.

Additionally, the point total is too much. Between starters sitting, and the Wizards offense, it’s hard to see enough firepower pushing the over. Although the last game went over today’s total by five points, this is an improved team at this point compared to then. Not only will the Golden State Warriors cover the spread, but they’ll limit the hosts from being able to contribute to the point total.

Final Pick

Golden State Warriors -11 and Under 242
