Key Stats & Players
DC Defenders
The DC Defenders get reigning Offensive Player of the Year QB Jordan Ta’amu back for 2024. It immediately gives them one of the best outlooks of any team in the UFL. The Defenders won by seven or more points in four of 10 games last season.
It did take some time for the offense to find its groove in 2023. In 2024, the hope is they can hit the ground running with the continuity from last season.
San Antonio Brahmas
The San Antonio Brahmas overhauled their coaching staff. Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward looked in over his head as the head coach last season. Seasoned NFL coach Wade Phillips will take the helm, and the new quarterback, Chase Garbers, will be under center.
This team looks completely different from 2023, which makes it harder for them to predict for the opening game.
Game Prediction
Both of the games on Saturday hit the under. I whiffed on the Battlehawks coming out and dominating because of their continuity so I am not making that same mistake again. For what it’s worth, I nailed the other game. While the Brahmas have a lot of questions, Wade Phillips should have the team ready to play. The DC Defenders still take it, but it is much closer than people might think.
Final Pick
San Antonio Brahmas +5.5, Under 43.0
