Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are coming off a costly win against their division rival, the New York Giants. However, Micah Parsons suffered a high ankle sprain in this game. It’s looking like he will miss the first game of his career due to injury. Also, DeMarcus Lawrence suffered a foot injury that will land him on the IR. Without their two best defensive linemen, it will be tough to win in Pittsburgh and move forward without two of their best defensive players. Despite the win, Dallas allowed rookie receiver, Malik Nabers, to grab 12 catches for 115 yards.

Offensively, the Cowboys did just enough to win. Dak Prescott played solid by completing 22 of 27 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns. CeeDee Lamb had his best game of the season, catching seven passes for 98 yards, including a 55-yard touchdown. Dallas scored six points in the second half against the Giants, but that might not be enough to defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers in this week’s Sunday Night Football matchup.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off suffering their first loss this past weekend against the Indianapolis Colts. They made a valiant effort to come back from down 17-0, however, they came up three points short. Injury-wise, Pittsburgh lost James Daniels against the Colts after he suffered a season-ending injury. Alex Highsmith will miss this game as he is still recovering from his groin injury. Justin Fields is looking to make his fourth start of the season for the Steelers, as Russell Wilson is still dealing with his calf injury.

Pittsburgh had a few bone-headed miscues against the Colts. George Pickens and Justin Fields each had a weird fumble, the defense forced a fumble and couldn’t jump on it, and Joey Porter Jr. dropped a pick in the endzone. Fields played a very solid game completing 22 of 34 passes for 213 yards one touchdown, and rushed 10 times for 55 yards and two touchdowns. Pickens was good as well, despite his fumble, he caught seven passes for 113 yards. Pat Freiermuth finally broke his 12-game touchdown drought against the Colts. Pat caught 5 balls for 57 yards and a touchdown.

Prediction

The Pittsburgh Steelers are going to defeat the Dallas Cowboys and cover the 1.5-point game spread. Although Pittsburgh didn’t have success against a Colts team that lost their starting QB in the first quarter, I expect them to bounce back. Dallas’ defense will struggle to get consistent pressure without their two best defensive linemen. This is a great spot for a defense that couldn’t get off the field on 3rd down against the Colts. TJ Watt will wreck this game against a team that can get pass-heavy and abandon the run sooner rather than later.

Final Pick

Pittsburgh Steelers -1.5 (-115)
