Week 2 of the College Football season is upon us and with that, it is worth looking at some teaser picks for this weekend. For those who do not know, a teaser is similar to a parlay in that all your picks must win to be paid out. The main difference is that a teaser allows you to move the original point spread (or total) in your favor. Doing this can increase your chances of winning your bet, but unlike a parlay, the odds are not nearly as high.
Let’s take a look at this week’s three-team 6-point teaser for College Football’s Saturday slate!
Teaser Leg #1: Troy Trojans +18.5 -> +24.5
The first leg of our Week 2 teaser will target the Troy Trojans as they hit the road to take on the Memphis Tigers at noon on Saturday. The Trojans are +18.5 point underdogs, but in this teaser, they will be 24.5 point underdogs. Troy is coming off a narrow loss to Nevada in Week 1, losing 28-26, while Memphis stomped North Alabama 40-0.
That being said, Troy is a back-to-back Sun Belt Champion and a strong contender this season as well, so even though Memphis is a popular pick for the College Football Playoffs, the Trojans should keep this game tight and with more than three touchdowns to work with, picking Troy as the first leg of our teaser is a no brainer.
Teaser Leg #2: Marshall Thundering Herd +20.5 -> +26.5
Our second leg will focus on the Marshall Thundering Herd as they take on their in-state rival, the Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday afternoon. Marshall started their season with a 45-3 win against Stony Brook, while Virginia Tech was upset by Vanderbilt. Losing to Vanderbilt is a huge red flag, especially with the Hokies considered to be a dark-horse contender in the ACC.
Marshall was originally a +20.5 point underdog, but with the 6-point teaser, they will be +26.5 point underdogs. This is far too many points for the Hokies to cover after struggling against Vanderbilt, which is why Marshall will be the second leg of our teaser this week.
Teaser Leg #3: Colorado Buffaloes +7.5 -> +13.5
The third and final leg of this week’s teaser will be none other than the Colorado Buffaloes as they take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday night. The Buffaloes won their Week 1 matchup against FCS powerhouse, the North Dakota State Bison, beating them 31-26. However, the Buffaloes did have some major defensive issues against North Dakota State, allowing 449 total yards.
That being said, Colorado torched the Bison secondary, totaling 445 passing yards. The big play ability between quarterback Shedeur Sanders and wide receivers Jimmy Horn Jr. and Travis Hunter is crucial to their success this season, especially against a Nebraska team that is favored by more than a touchdown.
The Cornhuskers easily dismantled UTEP in Week 1 but should have a much tougher time slowing down the Buffaloes’ offense. Colorado is a +7.5 underdog, but because they are the third leg of our teaser, they are now +13.5 point underdogs, which is more than enough points to cover.
