The Cleveland Cavaliers (45-29) take on the Denver Nuggets (51-23) in an Easter Sunday game. This is a game that is taking place as both teams look to get into playoff form. The Cavs have won two out of the last three games. Meanwhile, the Nuggets are on a two-game losing streak. Additionally, Cleveland won the last matchup. However, that was in late November.
For this game, do you see the traveling Cavaliers team being able to go toe to toe with the Nuggets in Denver?

Key Stats
Cleveland Cavaliers
Cleveland is happy to have the return of Donovan Mitchell. He averages 27.1 points on the year per game. Furthermore, he had 12 points in 32 minutes in his game back against the 76ers. But more impressively, he had eight assists to go along with only one turnover in that game. And maybe he was a step slow and needs to work himself back into game shape to get his legs under him, but his 1-of-7 shooting from three-point range shouldn’t happen against the Denver Nuggets.
Denver Nuggets
Denver is a good team, but they haven’t looked it over the past two days. Part of this could be a veteran group that has been there looking ahead toward the playoffs already. But you’d still like to see the Denver Nuggets play better and not necessarily drop games the way they have. For example, against a Minnesota Timberwolves team that wasn’t at full strength, some of their key secondary options couldn’t get themselves going. Jamal Murray continues to have injuries, so he wasn’t able to play.
However, Aaron Gordon only had 14 points but had a costly four turnovers. Additionally, Michael Porter Jr. had 14 points, but that was in 36 minutes of action. Additionally, Nikola Jokic had 32 points to go along with 10 rebounds, but again, he had four turnovers as well. It’s most important for someone else to find their shooting stroke beyond the three-point line, as shooting less than 30% from deep will not cut it against better teams.

Game Prediction
Now this is a Denver Nuggets team that is not playing well. You have to think that they will be fine moving forward but it looks like they miss Murray a little more than what many would have initially thought. Until we see players consistently step up outside of your kids against quality opponents you have to at least consider betting against the spread when Denver is involved right now. Therefore I’m taking the Cleveland Cavaliers to cover the five points on the road.
Final Pick
Cleveland Cavaliers +5
