The Cleveland Cavaliers (35-17) host the Chicago Bulls (26-28) tonight for a Wednesday matchup. Although the Cavs are in firm control of their destiny, the away team is lurking. Currently sitting in ninth, if a few teams slip, they could grab a high seed in the play-in tournament. However, the home team has controlled the regular season during this season. So far they are 2-0 against their opponents and the victories were convincing. But a potential trap game could see the visitors stealing one in Ohio tonight.
Since Cleveland is a 9-point favorite, do you see them covering that spread tonight in front of their home fans?

Cleveland’s team is looking like a contender. Additionally, there are not any notable inclusions on the injury report for their side. Therefore this should be a game in which Donovan Mitchell can get his own. The Cleveland Cavaliers have a good supporting cast around him, but it starts with him. He’ll need to contribute his 28.3 PPG, especially if they are going to cover against the Chicago Bulls.
Additionally, their main strength is on defense. Between Jarett Allen and Evan Mobley, they have a great front-court presence. You can also expect this team to be able to take advantage of matchups on both ends tonight!

Chicago pulling this off would be incredible. Hence, their current underdog status doesn’t come as much of a surprise. However, it could be even worse. Additionally, Alex Caruso is questionable and may miss a second playing chance in a row for the Bulls. But without him, they will need players like DeMar DeRozan and Coby White will need to step up if he is unable to go.
However, with or without Caruso, they will have a hard time against the Cleveland Cavaliers. While they may be able to match a lot of the scoring production for quarters at a time, defensively will be a struggle. Thus why the Bulls hope that one of their starters flirts with a career-high in scoring today!
Game Prediction
The over is the obvious play of the day. Despite the Cleveland Cavaliers having a great defense, a lot of points will be scored tonight. Because the Bulls have talented bucket-getters, they will be able to hang with the Cavs for stretches, and matching points. But defensively, it’s hard to picture them getting anywhere near enough stops.
Additionally, I easily see this Cavs team covering the spread. However, if the line gets pushed up a little more I’d be comfortable with that as well. This game may be over by the third quarter, Also, if that happens, and the starters are pulled in the fourth, I can see a lot of garbage time points being scored by both sides. However, I see the Cleveland Cavaliers doing a majority of the heavy lifting to cover the total.
Final Pick
Cleveland Cavaliers -9 and Over 222
