The Chicago White Sox are hosting the Seattle Mariners in game one of their three-game series tonight in Chicago. The White Sox are looking to bounce back after getting swept in their last three series, including losing their last 10 games. On the other side, the Mariners have not been much better over the last nine games. They have lost eight of their last nine. However, they made a trade last night to acquire Randy Arozarena, which should help them. Let’s jump into the stats and give you guys a winner.

Key Stats
Chicago White Sox
The Chicago White Sox team has been extremely disappointing. They’ve gone 0-10 in their last 10 games. However, starting pitcher Drew Thorpe has held Seattle batters to a .150 batting average with a 3/20 overall. Chicago is currently a bottom-two offense in the MLB and has had historically bad seasons over the years. In their last few games, they’ve had three or less runs scored.
Seattle Mariners
The Mariners have seen George Kirby have quality starts in nine of his last ten. However, this team is a bottom 10 offense in the league and are currently missing their best batter in Julio Rodriguez. Like Chicago, this team has struggled, going 2-8 in their last 10 and have lost eight of nine. They have managed a good record against the White Sox, going 3-1 in the last four games played between the two. Hopefully, the acquisition of Arozarena is a morale booster in the locker room.
Prediction
I am predicting that the Seattle Mariners will beat the Chicago White Sox in today’s series opener. Although both team’s offenses have been bad, I believe that the news of the Arozarena trade will be a morale boost. George Kirby has been excellent in his last 10 games. He is 2nd in the MLB when it comes to strikeout to walk ratio at 9.38 strikeouts for every walk he allows. This game will be a low scoring game and I believe that the Mariners will provide 2-3 more offensive plays than the White Sox will.
Let’s dive into the Chicago White Sox. They are simply a bad team. They have a historically bad record and have an atrocious offense. Their best bat, Luis Robert Jr., is 0/3 with 2 Ks against George Kirby. That’s not a big sample size but it is noteworthy. Overall the White Sox have good numbers against Kirby with a .320, 8/25 overall, I am still picking the better pitcher and the better team in this spot.
Final Pick
Seattle Mariners ML (-172)
