Charlotte Hornets vs Cleveland Cavaliers Preview, Predictions and Odds| March 25 2024

Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets (17-53) take on the Cleveland Cavaliers (43-28) in a Monday evening game. Both teams are coming off of bad losses. The Cavaliers lost to the Heat and are on a three-game losing streak. Meanwhile, the Hornets lost to the Hawks two days ago and are on a four-game losing streak. However, the Cavaliers have something to play for, as they are still in the thick of things for the playoffs and seating.
Conversely, the Hornets are hoping to get to 20 total wins on the season.
But which team do you favor to break their losing streak tonight?

Key Stats

Charlotte Hornets

Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets could pull off a win tonight, but they’re just as likely to lose by 20 or more points against the Cleveland Cavaliers. They are led by Miles Bridges in scoring. Bridges averages 21.3 points per game. Furthermore, he is coming off a strong 27-point performance against the Hawks. But Brandon Miller is someone who needs to get himself going. Miller averages 16.6 points per game but has scored 14 or fewer points in four out of his last five games. For the Charlotte Hornets to win tonight, they’ll need him to score at least 20 points.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Cleveland Cavaliers

Cleveland is led by Evan Mobley on a lot of nights. He averages 15.6 points per game and needs to be the primary scoring option until Donovan Mitchell gets back. For example, his four-point performance in 23 minutes against the Boston Celtics will not cut it tonight against the Charlotte Hornets. Furthermore, Jarrett Allen is another player who needs to uptick his scoring. Allen averages 16.2 points per game as well as 10.7 rebounds per game. But he has scored 15 or fewer points in three out of his last five games. The Cleveland Cavaliers need both of these players to score in the twenties.

Game Prediction

There isn’t a lot to like about either team at this point. However, the Cleveland Cavaliers are favored for a reason: overall, they should be a little more consistent. But the Hornets only have potential good pieces for the future and are not ready to compete night in and night out. But the spread is too large in either case. A win by Charlotte, and it’s more likely that Cleveland will win a sloppy close game. Therefore, I’m going with this Charlotte Hornets team to cover the spread.

Final Pick

Cleveland Cavaliers +11.5
