Central Division Odds and Prediction at the 2024 All-Star Break: Buckle Up

NHL Colorado Avalanche Winnipeg Jets Cale Makar Connor Hellebuyck Central Division Odds

The latest Central Division odds accurately reflect what the standings already tell us. Three teams are in tight contention for home-ice advantage through at least two rounds of the playoffs. Unlike the rest of the divisions, none of the Central Division franchises have negative odds of being the division winner.

So, with a little over 30 games remaining, the Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars, and Winnipeg Jets will wage war for the division title. Only one of them (or a mystery team) will come out on top. Here’s a look at the updated Central Division odds as the second half gets underway.

Central Division Odds Entering the Second Half

Colorado Avalanche (+145) Winnipeg Jets (+150)
Dallas Stars (+280) Nashville Predators (+20000)
St. Louis Blues (+25000) Minnesota Wild (+30000)
Arizona Coyotes (+40000) Chicago Blackhawks (+50000)

Currently atop the Central Division by one point, the 2021-22 Stanley Cup Champions are eyeing their fourth straight division crown. They are the NHL’s highest-scoring team, with a top-10 power play and penalty kill. Colorado has a three-game winning streak, but a road trip to open up their second half will provide an immediate test.

Winnipeg will start the second half third in points but leading the Central Division in points percentage. If they keep it up, they’ll claim the franchise’s first division title since the 2006-07 Atlanta Thrashers won the Southeast. The Jets surrender the fewest goals per game (2.30), something that they hope will lead them into June hockey.

Contender: Dallas Stars (30-13-6; 66 Points; Odds to Win Division: +280)

Stuck between the Avalanche and the Jets, Dallas has the worst odds of the Central Division’s three main competitors. They’re third in scoring, sixth in penalty killing, and ended January on a three-game winning streak. Jake Oettinger is healthy in net again, which is vital for this team’s success. The Stars have a strong chance of winning the Central Division too, even if the odds don’t reflect that.
