Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat Preview, Prediction, and Odds| April 24, 2024

Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics(1-0) are playing the Miami Heat(0-1) on Wednesday night in game two of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

The home grabbed the win in game one by 20 points. Jayson Tatum had his first playoff triple-double with 22 points, ten assists, and ten rebounds. Derrick White put up 20 points. Lastly, Jaylen Brown gave Boston 17 points and eight rebounds.

Conversely, Bam Adebayo gave the away team 24 points and six rebounds. Rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr. put up 16 points. Lastly, Tyler Herro had a rough game, only managing to give the team 11 points, four assists, and four rebounds.

Will the home team win another game, or can the visitors come back from a tough loss?

Key Stats

Boston Celtics

Boston is led in points and rebounds by Jayson Tatum, who averaged 26.9 points per game and 8.1 rebounds per game in the regular season. Also, White averaged 15.2 points per game and led the team in assists with 5.2 steals per game. Lastly, Jaylen Brown gave the team 23.0 points per game and led them in steals with 1.2 per game.

Both Tatum and Brown scored under their typical averages in the first game against the Heat. Look for them to be powering into the paint more. The main scoring issue in the last game was throwing up threes and missing.

Miami Heat

Miami Heat is led in scoring by Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro. Both players averaged 20.8 points per game in the regular season. Butler also led the team in assists and steals. However, he is currently labeled as out. Lastly, Bam Adebayo scored 19.3 points per game and led the team in rebounds with 10.4 rebounds per game.

Without Butler, the team will probably struggle in this series. However, Adebayo stepped up in a big way in the first game. Also, Jaime Jaquez Jr. played very well and was able to contribute more to the team, while Butler was unable to play.

Injury Report

Game Prediction

The Boston Celtics have a step up on the Miami Heat. Their whole starting five is healthy, and their bench is strong. However, they were shaky in the last quarter of game one. If they can keep their foot on the gas in every quarter, the Heat won’t have a chance. Without Butler, they don’t have the same fire.

I believe Boston is going to beat the Heat in game 2 of the Eastern Conference playoffs and cover the spread.

Final Pick

Boston Celtics -14.5 (-110)
