The Brooklyn Nets (22-35) take on the Orlando Magic (32-26) on Tuesday night. This is the third matchup of the season between these two teams. Shockingly, the Nets are 2-0 against the Magic with an average margin of victory of 24.0. For whatever reason, the Nets have played Orlando very well this season.
However, Brooklyn has been going in the wrong direction while the Magic are fighting for a playoff spot. Is Brooklyn a sneaky upset/cover candidate?

The Brooklyn Nets hope Mikal Bridge has another huge game against the Orlando Magic. In their last meeting, he erupted for 42 points. The team is moving in the wrong direction, losing seven of their last nine games. This might be intentional as the team looks to get a higher draft pick, but overall, the team has come out flat in the past few weeks.
The Nets are healthy right now, with Dariq Whitehead being the only player out.

The Orlando Magic are surging at the right time. They are 7-3 in their last ten games. Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner are carrying the team, but Jalen Suggs has been playing well as of late. In the last ten games, he has averaged 2.1 three-pointers a game. The Magic are fighting to get as high as possible in the Eastern Conference. They are only 1.5 games back from the fifth seed and need to keep winning to keep pace with the other teams.
Banchero and Jonathan Isaac are listed as day-to-day with injuries, but both are expected to play.
Game Prediction
I like the Orlando Magic to get their first win against the Brooklyn Nets this season. However, I think the spread is too high. The last five games have been very close, even against inferior opponents. While they pulled away in a couple of the games, I don’t see the Magic blowing out the Nets. They tend to play down to their competition, with some of their closest games being against the Pistons, Bulls, and Grizzlies. Expect this to be a low-scoring affair, and I like the under even at 213.0.
Final Pick
Brooklyn Nets +8.5 and Under 213.0
