Brooklyn Nets (21-35) travel to the Memphis Grizzlies (20-37) for a Monday night game. But neither team is playing particularly well at the moment. However, the home side is 2-1 in their last three games. Meanwhile, the visitors are on a four-game losing streak.
As this is the first meeting between these two, we do not have a prior game to go off of. But these sides will meet again in about a week in New York. However, the odds offer something of a surprising favorite for those looking to take action on this game.

Brooklyn needs a win. Although they have a new coaching regime, things look as they did under the former head coach. However, they want to get a win here. Although they haven’t played well they should get a result today, or at least keep it competitive. However, they are 8-18 on the road so far this season. Therefore getting a result tonight would be a positive step for this Brooklyn Nets ball club.
Ben Simmons is questionable to play today with back soreness. But the team looks to Mikal Bridges to not only carry the offensive load but also be the future. Additionally, Cam Thomas is due for a bigger game and performance. While this team has not played well as of yet, they are due for a better performance.

Memphis has lost three out of their last five games. While their best player remains out with an injury, the rest are trying to salvage something of the season. Additionally, a lot of the main cast who you’d expect to be in the lineup next year remain out for at least a couple of weeks. But considering they have one of the better-coveted talents, they are a threat to win at any point.
Jaren Jackson Jr. is coming off a 29-point game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Zaire Williams is the next-best scoring option against the Brooklyn Nets tonight. But outside of that, there isn’t too high of a likelihood of scoring coming from this team. Their focus is defensive, and they want to win a close, low-scoring affair. A win would be fantastic, but it remains unlikely.
Game Prediction
This game could be very ugly. Although the Brooklyn Nets have better scoring options, it will still likely be a struggle against the Memphis Grizzlies tonight. However, after a poor couple of past performances, they’re due for a bounce-back night. Additionally, Coach Ollie has had a little more time to implement his new system and philosophy. Therefore I am picking the visitors against the spread.
Additionally, because of how this game will play out, I don’t see enough points being scored to hit the over. Also, playing the under is the safer bet here. Furthermore, with the Grizzlies having so many health issues, it’s doubtful the Brooklyn Nets go home to New York without a victory.
Final Pick
Brooklyn Nets -2 and Under 214.5
