The Boston Celtics (47-12) host the Golden State Warriors (32-27) on Sunday. Despite what the spread is many expect this to be a good game. However, some injury concerns may help to explain why the line is where it is at for this game. Moreover, the Warriors defeated the Celtics in late December last year. But the Celtics are one of the hotter teams in the NBA at the moment and look to continue their impressive run.
However, when fully healthy they are facing a team that collectively continues to defy the worry of Aging. On this East Coast tour, the Warriors have won three straight games. However, the hosts have won 10 in a row.
Depending on who is able to suit up do you see the Boston Celtics making it an 11th game in a row against the Golden State Warriors?

Key Stats
Boston Celtics
Boston last played against the Dallas Mavericks and had a dominant 28-point win. Many are picking the Boston Celtics to at least go on a deep playoff run. But they will face a different test from the visitors as they look to extend their winning streak. However, the main concern is with Kristaps Porzingis, as he is listed as questionable with a left quadriceps contusion.
But if he is unable to go, Jayson Tatum is coming off a five-for-nine shooting night from three-point range, which led to him scoring 32 total points. Additionally, Jaylen Brown chipped in 25 points in the winning effort against the Mavericks. However, Al Horford tied a team-high plus-21 scoring differential. His 12 points and eight rebounds in 28 minutes of play saw him have a large impact, and he would be someone who would be needed to step it up again if Porzingis were unable to play.
Golden State Warriors
Golden State is looking to improve its form before the playoffs. However, it’s most likely that they will play in the Play-In Tournament. Although a lot of people expect them to be in the first round of the NBA playoffs, that is not a foregone conclusion. Notably, the key pieces of this roster are aging stars. Therefore, remaining healthy and peeking toward the end of the regular season is what is most important.
They currently sit ninth in the West and are a half back behind the eighth-seeded Mavericks. Considering they are two and a half games back of the six-seeded Suns, avoiding the Play-In Tournament is a possibility but not altogether too likely. Moreover, for today Steph Curry and Brandin Podziemski are both questionable.
Game Prediction
The spread shows that this game will likely not be close. Especially with Curry and Podziemski possibly not playing, the Boston Celtics should cruise to an easy three over the Golden State Warriors. Moreover, they have been playing as the best team in the NBA. While the Celtics can get it done offensively and defensively, they should be able to limit the Warriors’ offense enough through their defense. Therefore, I’m picking against the spread and sticking with the home team.
Additionally, the point total seems far too high. Although Curry is one of the best shooters ever, the high usage rate and health concerns coming in make it unlikely that the Golden State Warriors will be able to keep pace with the Boston Celtics.
Final Pick
Boston Celtics -11 and Under 231.5
