Game Prediction
The Celtics are clearly one of the best teams in the NBA while the Pistons are near the bottom. Boston needs just 3 more wins to secure the top seed in the East and with 13 games remaining on their schedule, it seems likely that they’ll lock it up. With the playoffs just around the corner, the Celtics may opt to rest some of their key players to avoid injury in meaningless games heading into the postseason. Tonight may be one of those nights, as some of their star players may sit out or play less than their normal playing time as they most likely can pick up the win with their role players.
I believe that the Boston Celtics will win this game. However, I believe that the Pistons will keep it within 14 points or less. These two teams faced off on March 18 where Boston won by 25 points, but Detroit was without Cade Cunningham. In their other matchup back on December 28, the Pistons were able to force overtime against the Celtics before losing by 6 points. Therefore, based on the circumstances that Cade is back and Boston may opt to play their star players less than usual, I am picking the Detroit Pistons to cover the spread at home and keep this game within 14.5 points.
