Best Prop Bets for Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings Week 7

detroit lions

On Sunday, the Detroit Lions will travel to Minnesota to play the 5-0 Vikings in what could be one of the year’s best games. After defeating the Cowboys handily in Dallas, the Detroit Lions appear among the NFL’s most complete teams.

The offense was clicking in both the run and pass game, allowing the Detroit Lions to put up 47 points on the Cowboys. Since the Vikings had the bye week, they had time to get the majority of their players healthy and should be primed for action on Sunday. Here are the three bets I think have the best chance of hitting on Sunday afternoon in this NFC North clash in an exciting and close game.

Amon-Ra St. Brown: Over 72.5 Receiving Yards (-113)

Amon-Ra St. Brown has had a fairly slow start to the season, but I believe that this week will be the turning point for him. Jared Goff’s go-to man has been St. Brown, and I believe Goff targets him frequently in the early going for the Detroit Lions.

Despite having the bye, the Vikings have allowed the eighth-most passing yards in the NFL, so Goff will probably look to throw the ball frequently. The current line is 72.5 yards, and although he has only reached it twice in five games this year, he has reached it in four of his six career games against Minnesota, missing it just twice by fewer than ten yards. He should be able to hit it this weekend as he looks to have his best game of the season.

Justin Jefferson: 100+ Receiving Yards (+116)

Justin Jefferson has been a Lion killer in his career, and I don’t expect that to change this weekend. This season, Jefferson has been great, and the cornerbacks for the Detroit Lions have struggled at times. Despite having just one 100-yard game this year, Jefferson averages 134.1 receiving yards per game against Detroit and has had 100 receiving yards in 6 of his 8 career games against them.

Sam Darnold will try to exploit the Detroit Lion’s secondary and will probably look for Jefferson constantly. With the Vikings playing the way they have this year, Jefferson should have no trouble reaching 100 yards for the 7th time in his career vs Detroit.

Jahmyr Gibbs: Over 51.5 Rushing Yards (-113)

Jahmyr Gibbs has been great this year, and I expect that to continue this week. The Vikings are a fantastic run defense, but the Detroit Lions offensive line has shown that they can let David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs run through any defense.

The Detroit Lions have relied heavily on their run game this season, and even though I think they pass a little bit more this week, they are still a run-first team. The current line is 51.5 yards, which he has reached in every game since Week 1 this year. He should be able to clear this number very easily, especially since Minnesota’s top linebacker Blake Cashman will be out for this game.
