The Oakland Athletics and the Minnesota Twins face off for the third game of their four-game series on Saturday afternoon. The Twins won the first two games, including on Friday 6-5 in 10 innings after Max Kepler hit a walk-off RBI single.
Right-hander Joey Estes (2-2, 4.78 ERA) is going to be taking the mound for Oakland while the Twins counter with righty Bailey Ober (5-4, 5.13 ERA). Can the Twins win the series here or will the Athletics take the third game and try to split this four-game set?

Key Stats
Oakland Athletics
The Oakland Athletics are not known to be a good offensive team as they have a lot of young players who are trying to prove themselves in the majors. As a result, the team is 20 games under .500 and probably going to be trading away some players in the next eight weeks. Center fielder JJ Bleday has been the team’s most consistent hitter as he has a .226/.322/.443 slashline in his previous 27 games.
Rookie right-hander Joey Estes is going to toe the slab for this game and is coming off a losing effort as he went five innings and allowed three runs on eight hits with two walks and three strikeouts against the San Diego Padres. Their bullpen has been a strength of the team as they are seventh in the sport with a 3.48 ERA and try to get the ball into their flamethrowing closer Mason Miller.
Minnesota Twins
The Minnesota Twins have been heating up as they are on a three-game winning streak but still are third in the AL Central. The team is six games over .500 and are getting healthier as the lineup begins to hit a lot better as the season progresses. Minnesota has been able to hit for a lot of power, specifically at Target Field, as they have 40 homers in 34 home games thus far.
Righty Bailey Ober is going to be getting the start in this game as he did not factor into the decision last time out against the Pittsburgh Pirates as he threw 4.2 innings and gave up four runs on seven hits with a pair of walks and five strikeouts. Their bullpen needs to improve as they are 15th in the majors with a 3.72 ERA after that being a massive strength for years.
Prediction
These teams have showcased how they are going to be able to keep the game close and totaled 11 runs in Friday’s game. Minnesota had to get six innings out of their bullpen while Oakland had 3.1 but needed five pitchers to get those outs. Joey Estes is pitching to a 6.27 road ERA this season while Bailey Ober is struggling lately as he has a 5.66 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP in his last seven starts. These teams should score runs so expect double-digit run totals once again.
Final Pick
Over 8.5 (+100)
