Arlington Renegades
Not much went right for the Renegades last week. While the Birmingham Stallions are one of the premier teams in the UFL, Arlington was gashed on the ground. Giving up 183 rushing yards in a game is not ideal. If there is a positive, it is that quarterback Luis Perez had a decent day, going 19-28 for 214 yards and one touchdown.
Defensively, the Renegades did have two interceptions, which is something to watch when going up against a pass-happy Battlehawks team.
St. Louis Battlehawks
Quarterback AJ McCarron picked up right where he left off, throwing for two touchdowns and 216 yards. The offense didn’t look quite as crisp as many thought it would, but it still made big plays in big moments. Losing on a 64-yard field goal hurts but leaves the Battlehawks with fewer questions than the other 0-1 teams.
Game Prediction
I was surprised at the Battlehawks losing to the Panthers but not concerned. The team looked like one of the better teams of the weekend. I have less enthusiasm about the Renegades. While this game has the potential for a lot of points, the theme of week one was the under and I’m sticking with it. The line is tricky. While I think the Battlehawks will win, +5 is a lot to cover in a UFL game.
