The Philadelphia 76ers (31-21) travel to the Cleveland Cavaliers (35-16) in a big Eastern Conference matchup. Although the 76ers are limited due to injuries, they will still try to upset the home team. Although the Cavs are double-digit favorites, NBA regular season games remain tricky to give up too many points when considering placing a bet.
However, a lot of attention will be placed on newcomer Buddy Hield. While the visiting side remains outmatched, the game may be closer than anticipated. Especially if Hield can heat up from three. Conversely, Donovan Mitchell remains one of the best guards in the league. For the Cavs to cover the large spread, he’ll likely need to go for 30+ points tonight.

The Philadelphia 76ers are hoping to at least keep it close. With Joel Embiid out for a lengthy amount of time, others will need to step up. However, Tobias Harris is questionable with a hip injury. Buddy Hield will need to have a big game for the 76ers to cover the spread.
However, down low raises a lot of issues. Jarrett Allen is likely to have a field day. Realistically, Tyrese Maxey will need to outproduce the frontcourt of Philly and have a monster night. Either way, this is setting up to be a high-scoring game. The only remaining question is if the traveling team will keep it close.
Cleveland Cavaliers (Averages)
Points: 114.9

Field Goal Efficiency: 42.8/88.7 for 48.3%

Free Throw Efficiency Against: 17.5/22.4 for 78.1%
Rebounds Against: 10.2 Offensive, 31.9 Defensive, 42.1 Combined
The Cavaliers should win this game through their frontcourt. Additionally, they are a top defensive team in the NBA this year. However, the question remains if they will be able to contain Hield and Maxey. Regardless, aside from the aforementioned players, Darius Grland will look to get himself going, especially from three.
However, the Cleveland Cavaliers are more talented than the Phildelpiha 76ers at the moment. Adding Embiid would of course change the equation. But for now, the home team just needs to take care of business. Particularly as they are looking to make a move for the top seed in the East right before the All-Star break.
Game Prediction
Unfortunately for the road team, I see the front-court battle being too much to overcome. However, I expect the guards on both teams to get their own tonight from both teams. Therefore, the 76ers are not completely out of it. Particularly if they attack the basket or play down low, getting Allen in foul trouble early could be key to a potential upset.
Realistically, Cleveland will win, regardless of the scoring production from a couple of individual players. However, the new rotation should keep this closer than anticipated, and 11 is too much to give up to pick the favorites against the spread. Therefore I am going with the Philadelphia 76ers to cover, while also picking the over.
Final Pick
Philadelphia 76ers +11 and Over 230
