The Green Bay Packers (9-8) travel to Santa Clara to play for an NFC Conference invitation against the San Francisco 49ers (12-5). The Saturday matchup comes from two entirely different paths. The Packers needed to win their last three games to get into the playoffs. Meanwhile, the 49ers earned a telling first-round bye.
The age-old question of rest versus rust is relevant again. The 49ers have not played for two weeks. Compared to Green Bay, who are now on a 4-game winning streak. Not only that. But they are playing well!
Jordan Love has this offense firing on all cylinders. Also, Aaron Jones gains 100 yards rushing every game as of late. However, playing one of the best overall teams in the league will it be enough?

This team is as hot as any in the NFL right now! Despite an uninspiring start, the Green Bay Packers have scored 33 or more points in 3 out of their last four games. Additionally, Aaron Jones has rushed for over 100 yards in his last four games. Even if this game becomes a shootout, this offense can keep up.
But the real resurgence has been on defense. Regardless of what you think of Joe Barry, they are playing better on that side of the ball. Moreover, this unit completely shut down a talented Dallas Cowboys team throughout most of the game last week. Though listed as questionable right now, Jaire Alexander will be all set come kickoff.
San Francisco 49ers (Regular Season Only)

Even though the San Francisco 49ers have looked the best, the last time we truly watched them play was on the last day of 2023 against the Commanders. After all, they sat starters against the Rams in the regular season finale. When firing on all cylinders, this team is as dangerous as some of the top squads in recent memory.
However, a lot will come down to getting an early lead. When heading into the fourth under Kyle Shanahan, the 49ers are 0-38. Therefore, the key to this game for them will be to jump ahead early. Then, the likes of Nick Bosa and Chase Young will be able to pin their ears back and go after Love.
Game Prediction
I think too many people are underestimating the Green Bay Packers. Yes, the 49ers are a good team. However, they have been vulnerable against stronger competition, particularly against the Ravens and Browns. Especially with the ability of a healthy Jones at running back, the Packers will be a tough out. Furthermore, this Green Bay Packers defense has stepped up as of late and is creating turnovers. Considering how Love is taking care of the football, I think this will favor the Packers. The longer the game is close, or the 49ers trail, the more Purdy will be forced to make plays with his arm, a position he has not had to be in as often, and I can see the Packers taking advantage. Green Bay covering the spread is the bet to make, with the under making the most sense.
Final Pick
Under 50.5 and Green Bay Packers +9.5
