Key Stats

Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings are coming off a nice road win over the Houston Rockets, 113 to 103. Jonas Valanciunas stepped up when Domantas Sabonis went down with a hamstring injury. Valanciunas ended the game with 15 points, 14 rebounds, four steals, and three blocks. DeMar DeRozan had a lovely night despite his inefficiencies on the floor. DeRozan finished the game with 21 points and six assists while shooting 7/18 from the floor. Zach LaVine was sensational with 20 points, six rebounds, and assists while being a team-high +21 on the floor. The Kings have a record of 31-28 on the season, a record that has them sitting in 9th place in the Western Conference.

Defensively, Sacramento is a below-average team. For the season, they rank 19th in points allowed per game, 17th in opponent field goal percentage, 29th in opponent three-point percentage, 21st in blocks per game, 20th in steals per game, 10th in rebounds per game, and 15th in defensive rating. In terms of injuries, DeSantis Sabonis has been ruled out with a hamstring injury. He suffered against the Houston Rockets. Over their last 10 games, the Sacramento Kings have a record of 6-4, including 5-5-0 against the spread.

Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks are coming off a double-digit loss on the road against the Milwaukee Bucks, 132-117. Kyrie Irving finishes the game with 31 points, five rebounds, and three assists while shooting 9/23 from the floor, including 2/9 from the three-point line. Jaden Hardy had a nice game off the bench with 16 points and four assists in 22 minutes. Moses Brown was solid in his limited minutes due to foul trouble. Brown finished the game with 18 points and nine rebounds while shooting 8/9 from the floor. With a record of 32-29 on the season, the Dallas Mavericks sit in 10th place in the Western Conference.

Defensively, the Mavericks are a solid team. They rank 16th in points allowed per game, 7th in opponent field goal percentage, 13th in opponent three-point field goal percentage, 4th in blocks per game, 18th and steals per game, 15th in rebounds per game, and 14th in defensive rating. Regarding injuries, the only new addition to the injury report is PJ Washington, who has been ruled out with an ankle injury he suffered against the Bucks. Hopefully, Dallas can get healthier sooner rather than later. Over the last 10 games, the Mavs have a record of 6-4, including 6-4-0 against the spread.

Prediction

The Sacramento Kings will defeat the Dallas Mavericks on the road and cover the two-point spread in this game. Even without Sabonis, the Kings are the better team in this game. Considering how injured they are, I do not believe that the Dallas Mavericks will be able to slow down Malik Monk and Zach LaVine’s electric backcourt. Jonas Valanciunas should dominate this game just like he did against the Rockets. He was the perfect acquisition for them at the trade line, and with Sabonis going down, it will prove dividend in this game just as it did in the last game. Sacramento goes into Dallas in this game and comes away With their 32nd win of the season.

Final Pick

Sacramento Kings -2 (-112)
