The Detroit Lions will host the Jacksonville Jaguars this weekend in what should be a high-scoring game. The Detroit Lions are coming off an amazing comeback win in Houston on Sunday night. Jared Goff didn’t have a great game, but the defense pulled through and held Houston to 0 points in the second half. The Jaguars are coming off a close loss to the Vikings, where they only scored 7 points, despite not allowing Minnesota to score a TD. This game should be very fun, and here are 3 bets that I think have the best chance to hit.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs Detroit Lions Match Details
- Fixture: Ford Field
- Date: November 17th
- Time: 1 pm EST
David Montgomery Over 70.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards (-114)
David Montgomery has been on a stretch of bad games, but I think he will bounce back in a big way this weekend. The Jaguars are not great at defending the run, and we could see Detroit pound the rock early. Jahmyr Gibbs will get his fair share of touches, but Montgomery will still be able to have a big game. If the Lions go up big early, we could see them run the ball a lot, giving him plenty of opportunities to get yards. The current line is 70.5 yards, and despite only hitting this number once in the past four weeks, I think he hits it this weekend.
Mac Jones: Over 186.5 Passing Yards (-113)
Mac Jones will be the starting QB for Jacksonville yet again, making his second start in a row. Last week, he struggled throwing for just 139 yards and 2 picks. It may be a struggle at first for Jones, but I think the Lions pull away fast, leaving the Jags with no choice but to throw the ball to try to get back in the game. He will have Travis Etienne as his bell-cow back, so he will get his fair share of targets. The current line is 186.5 yards, and although he wasn’t close to hitting that number last week, I think he will end the game by hitting the over.
Tim Patrick: Over 13.5 Receiving Yards (-113)
Patrick has been a great wide receiver three this year but has totaled just 12 yards in the past 3 games. The Lions signed him right before the season started, and he has been great stepping into the wide receiver 3 role and taking pressure off Kalif Raymond. Although Goff and Patrick haven’t connected much in the past few games, I think that changes against a poor Jacksonville secondary this weekend. The current line is sitting at just 13.5 yards, and despite not hitting that number the past few weeks, I think he should have no problem clearing that mark.
