The Baltimore Orioles host the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night. After splitting Monday’s doubleheader, they’ll meet again for the third game of this four-game set.
The Orioles are clinging to first place in the AL East, holding a 63-44 record, just half a game ahead of the surging Yankees. Baltimore is just 4-6 in their past ten, and they actually have a better road record compared to their mark at Camden Yards this year.
Toronto is in last place in the AL East, and they come in at just 50-57, 24-29 on the road. These division rivals will battle it out tonight, and we’ll feature the best player props below.
Prop #1: Chris Bassitt Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+158 on Fanduel)
We’re going with the alternate line here for the Blue Jays’ righty, as he’s been racking up the Ks lately. In each of Bassitt‘s past three starts, he’s notched exactly six punchouts. Even though the O’s have a solid lineup, Bassitt has been very consistent in the strikeout department, even if he gets hit around or doesn’t go too deep into the game.
Toronto’s right-hander has not faced Baltimore this year, but the last time he faced them, he recorded seven Ks in six innings. Look for him to get to six here in a spot where we’re getting great value.
Prop #2: Colton Cowser Over 1.5 Total Bases (+140 on Fanduel)
Colton Cowser has been raking lately, hitting .400 with a .680 slugging percentage over his last seven games and .327 with a .538 slugging over his past 15. On the year, he’s raised his batting average to .240, and he’s up to 15 homers with a respectable .772 OPS.
Cowser is expected to bat sixth, but the Orioles have a very solid lineup, so he’s always sandwiched between good hitters. Check back to make sure that he starts, but he’s been on fire, so this is a great value bet at +140. He went deep last night and totaled five bases, and he’s now gotten at least two in four of his past seven appearances. Expect the rookie to stay hot and get to two here tonight.
Prop #3: Jordan Westburg Over 0.5 Singles (-135 on Fanduel)
Orioles infielder Jordan Westburg is expected to bat fifth tonight versus Chris Bassitt and the Jays. Westburg has never faced Bassitt in his career, but he has hit a single in each of his previous three games. The O’s have a lot of young talent, including Westburg, and he comes in slugging .586 over his last seven games. He has great power numbers, but we’re banking on him to notch a single here at home.
