The Chicago White Sox are hosting the Seattle Mariners in the last game of their three-game series this afternoon. With the Mariners looking to complete the sweep, they are primed to do so. They have outscored the White Sox 16-3 in this series through the first two games. However, they face Garrett Crochet who is a power strikeout pitcher who ranks second in the MLB in Ks. This can be troublesome because the Mariners are first in the MLB in terms of hitting strikeouts. Enough talking, let’s dive straight into the game.

Key Stats.
Chicago White Sox
The White Sox have been an abysmal team all season long. However, when they have their ace on the mound, Garrett Crochet, he gives them a better chance in said game. Crochet is second in the MLB in strikeouts and is looking forward to facing a team in the Mariners that leads the MLB in hitter strikeouts. Although the White Sox are winless in their last 10 games, they are coming off of two difficult series against the Texans and the Royals, two teams with postseason aspirations.
Chicago will be led offensively by their first baseman, Andrew Vaughn. He leads the team in hits, batting average, and RBIs. Although he is hitless in his career against Bryce Miller, 0/5 with one strikeout, they are going to need a big game from their best offensive player. However, he is going to need help. Their centerfielder, Luis Robert Jr, has been a no show this series, failing to record a single hit, 0/7 overall with six strikeouts. He is primed for a bounce back performance.
Seattle Mariners
The Seattle Mariners are still integrating left fielder, Randy Arozarena, in the green and white. The Mariners acquired him a few days ago trying to make a splash to an offense that has been bottom three in the MLB, statistically. The Mariners have looked bad over the last month outside of the previous two games in this series. With a record of 3-7 in their last 10 games, it is crucial they complete the sweep this afternoon and continue to make their push towards a wildcard spot in the American League.
The Mariners’ starting pitcher for this game is Bryce Miller who has been sensational against the White Sox batters in his career, holding them to a .128 batting average, 6/47 overall with 14 Ks. Still without Julio Rodriguez, their star center fielder, that hasn’t been an issue this series however as they are outscoring the Chicago White Sox 16-3 in this series through the first two games. With the Mariners needing to stack up wins to not fall behind in the standings, this is a game on a silver platter for them to complete the sweep and move on to Boston and take on the Red Sox.
Prediction
I am predicting that the Seattle Mariners will complete the sweep against the Chicago White Sox. Although this will be a low scoring game, due to both starting pitchers being elite against the opposing team’s batters, the White Sox won’t be able to keep up. With the addition of Arozarena, there is a positive outlook in the locker room. The Mariners are in a great spot against the worst team in the MLB, record wise, to pick up the easy win.
Final Pick
Seattle Mariners ML (-104)
