Deiveson Figueiredo (22-3-1) has main event PPVs and delivered great results as a flyweight champ. He is tasked to give a showdown to start the UFC 300 Early Prelims now. Figgy is a really well-rounded fighter who has finished 17 of his victims. He has power and slick scrambling and submissions. In this MMA game, they don’t call you ‘Deus Da Guerra’ (God of War) if you’re not an absolute killer.
Cody Garbrandt (14-5) is also a former champion. He won the title at Bantamweight, but his downfall was unreal. He burst into the scene as a slick striker with amazing movement and finishing power. Out of his 14 wins, 11 are by KO. Unfortunately, his instincts to trade cost him quite a bit. His chin is made of glass and four of his five losses are by KO, most of them he’s been put out cold.
Figueiredo vs. Garbrandt Fight Prediction
Figgy is too powerful and too well-rounded for Garbrandt. Cody has a puncher’s chance even though Figueiredo’s only KO loss is a doctor stoppage. Figgy has the chin Garbrandt lacks, and he has a more dangerous skill set. He will finish the bout before the judges have a say on it.

Bobby Green (31-15-1-1NC) is a veteran of a thousand wars. He is all game and has 11 KOs and 9 SUBs in his career. He likes to come forward and throw combinations with good striking angles. However, he’s coming off a brutal KO loss just last December vs. Jalin Turner. This turnaround might be rushed as he was severely damaged in that bout.
Jim Miller (37-17-1) is in a whole different situation. The living legend has won five out of his last six bouts, finishing all those five wins. Miller has 27 stoppages and even at 40, his power and dynamic style remain intact. He holds the record for most UFC wins with 26.
Green vs. Miller Fight Prediction
Green’s recovery is an absolute mystery for me and that scares me. Miller is more well-rounded, has more momentum, has a better chin (only KO’d twice in 55 fights), and has a much more threatening submission game. Miller as an underdog is a steal.

Jessica Andrade (25-12) might seem like an absolute veteran. She is, but she’s also just 32 years old. However, her prime is long gone. She’s 1-3 in her last four fights, and she was finished in every loss during that span. Andrade is a former champ and still has KO power, but she leaves her chin wide open to be found and her fighting IQ is not always the highest.
Marina Rodriguez (17-3-2) is a prolific striker with 7 KOs in her career. She just finished Michelle Waterson-Gomez in her last fight with vicious ground-and-pound. Rodriguez is well-rounded and can climb up the rankings with a win here. The key is her defense. While Andrade receives 5.36 sig. strikes per minute, Rodriguez eats only 2.89. She manages distance very well and has the reach advantage.
Andrade vs. Suarez Fight Prediction
Andrade’s blitzes will be her downfall. She rushes, leaves her chin in the air and Rodriguez will counter the head off of her. Rodriguez will dictate the distance and the tempo to stuff takedowns and get the nod or late finish.

Jalin Turner (14-7) is a finisher of the highest levels. His 14 wins come by stoppage and 10 of those are KOs. Turner is a big lightweight standing at 6’3″ with a 77″ reach. He’s powerful and lands with volume. His takedown defense is 75% and that is key in this matchup.
Renato Moicano (18-5-1) is a fan-favorite. ‘Money’ Moicano has 10 SUBs and 0 KOs, his path to victory is clear. He might have the slickest rear-naked choke in the division, but he will have to trade in the pocket if he wants Turner’s back. It’ll be a challenge.

Turner will keep the distance behind his jab and land the more powerful shots. He knows he can’t let Moicano near his back and his game plan will be to avoid that scenario. Moicano will be unsuccessful in his attempts and might get frustrated.
