The Memphis Grizzlies (27-50) are hosting the Philadelphia 76ers (42-35) for a Saturday evening game. These teams have had unavailability and injuries for a large portion of their season. However, things look optimistic, for at least on one side, brighter days are ahead.
But for today’s game, which key injury is there for you to monitor before taking action on this contest?
Memphis Grizzlies vs. Philadelphia 76ers Injury Report
Memphis Grizzlies
Players | Injury | Status |
Vince Williams Jr. | Knee | Out |
Lamar Stevens | Groin | GTD |
Yuta Watanabe | Personal | Out |
John Konchar | Heel | Out |
Jaren Jackson Jr. | Quadriceps | Out |
This Memphis Grizzlies team is looking forward to next year. They believe they have some good pieces, and they believe that they have a young and talented roster to compete. However, for one reason or another, different players have been unavailable throughout the course of the year. It has given this franchise a chance to watch individual players step up and, at times, even shine on the court. This is far from a finished product, but players like Jackson Jr., Williams Jr., and Ja Morant being more present on the court next year will help give a better evaluation of this team moving forward.
Updates:
Philadelphia 76ers
Players | Injury | Status |
Mo Bamba | Illness | Out |
Tobias Harris | Knee | Out |
Robert Covington | Knee | Out |
Joel Embiid | Knee | GTD |
Tyrese Maxey | Hip | GTD |
The Philadelphia 76ers have been waiting for Embiid to get healthy and stay on the court throughout his tenure in the city of brotherly love. However, the injury report for today includes other notable players, but hopefully, they will be able to not only contribute but also be largely unaffected by what is ailing them heading into today’s matchup. Unfortunately, Harris isn’t going to be available today.
As stated, this team believes that they can be good and that they can be contenders, but health has been the primary issue. It hasn’t been the case just for this year; it has been throughout the tenure of most players with this Philadelphia team. When they face the Grizzlies tonight, it’s a chance for everyone available to get some much-needed chemistry together.
Update:
Joel Embiid – Available (Knee)
Tyrese Maxey – Available (Hip)
Looking To Turn Around Philadelphia 76ers Season
Embiid being back is the one thing that Philadelphia 76ers fans have been looking for. Without him, there is little to zero chance of them being able to find success in the postseason. They attempted to make some moves to help right the ship until his return. However, these transactions were largely ineffective. Now it’s time to see if the moves that they had in mind will be able to coexist and find a rhythm with the star.
It has looked decent as of late. But until we see a prolonged set of games with him beat on the court and other players fitting in and able to contribute at a high level, then there’s little room for Hope. The Philadelphia 76ers are closer to being on the verge of another disappointing year than anything else.
